LAVH 8 days post op and having bad gas like pains, help!!!

Hello everyone. I am 8 days post op and healing real well, but having terrible gas like pains that seem to coincide with me needing to have a bowel movement, but hurts so bad like I'm giving birth again???? don't know if this is normal and if it is, how much longer does it go on???? Should I call my doctor on Monday? I am only taking Ibuprophen and stopped my stool softener thinking it might be that?? If anyone can help me, PLEASE, PLEASE???

Hey, I too had pains like you I would take gas ex it helped me and I also took mirilax and still taking it I'm 3 weeks post op remember to walk a lil bit it helps with the gas well it did for me hope you get better soon!! I also hurt bad til I had my first bm and it was day 7 for me

I had the same thing. Stool softener made me gassy and then when I would have a BM it was painful. It gets better.

Lots of water intake and easy to digest food. I have been lite on red meat was doing great. Had a burreto and the gas was really bad right after I eat. 1/2 your body weight in oz of water just to retain proper hydration. Also apple juice is constipating.

Hello Ladies,
I had the same gas pains. Horrible pain but I found that taking the stool softner helped because I didn't have to force anything out which would have been more painful. (sorry if sharing to much info, just trying to be helpful)

Mira-lax is supposed to be non gassy, but I have gas with it.
the Nurse told me I'd have gas for a week or so. As I understand it they fill you up with gas so they have an easier time seeing inside.

I had my melon size uterus removed, I also had a bladder suspension. 9 days ago. My problem is I am having burning and itching in my vaginal and rectum. Not sure way? Anyone else? Anything help?
