How to use the Recovery Progress Reports thread:
- 1. This thread is for the purpose of sharing updates on your recovery as you heal from your hysterectomy.

- 4. The Progress Report threads will be moved at approximately 8 weeks post-op to the Date Club forum inside the HysterSisters clubhouse.
- 5. Remember all the love and support you got here as a pre-op member? Now it's YOUR turn to give back to the women in the Pre-Op Hysterectomy Support forum. Extend your hand and your hugs in replies to our pre-op ladies in waiting. This will complete our circle of women helping women!
- 6. You can also share support and experiences with post-op members in all phases of recovery in the Post-Op Hysterectomy Support forum by replying on the new threads they create.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 12-Dec 18,2011
Welcome to your recovery thread!
It was three years ago this month that I had my own hysterectomy and began the recovery process. I spent lots of time in my fuzzy purple slippers and drawstring sweatpants.
I remember all the questions I had about what was normal in recovery and when I would start to feel good. It was so comforting to come here and gets from other women who truly understood.
I'll be spending some time with you on this thread to help you find the best support you need on our site.
Welcome home from the castle, ladies!

I had da vinci hyster this morning and I am home. Soreness and gas pains abound , but hey, after these last few years of pain and bleeding episodes, this should be like a walk in the park. Just thankful and grateful it's over.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 12-Dec 18,2011
Had my surgery laporscopically at 8:06 AM this morning, my ovaries were removed due to endometriosis. Surgery went well. I'm a little sore but the pain machine helps alot. The plan is for me to be discharged tomorrow mornIng. The catheter and breathing device are a bit uncomfortable but after years of pain & fatigue, I am looking forward to recovery. Thanks to this site, I knew what to expect from the minute I walked through the hospital doors.

Had SAH at 9am Dec.12. It went great. I had a spinal block with sedation so I was completely out. Recovery was easier than my first surgery with general anesthesia. So far I am on track to be home by noon Dec. 13th. Resting well. Just took Vicodin...time for a vico-nap!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 12-Dec 18,2011
Today I feel good. I didn't hardly sleep at all last night. I'm not sure if that's a side affect of anethesia or what. I had the da vinci and if I sit or even lay down for a bit, I feel stiff down there when I first stand up. The thing that has bothered me the most is the gas pains. It is hurting off and on pretty bad in my right shoulder. Thank God for pain pills. Over all, I am happy I chose hysterectomy over an ablation and glad it's over with.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 12-Dec 18,2011
Hello fellow sisters,
I had my TVH yesterday at 2pm and everything went well. I woke up in recovery in a little bit of pain but now the pain meds have helped manage that. I did not need vaginal packing or a cath, I was able to urinate when I got to my room. I have been up walking around just fine, they are just monitoring my blood pressure which has been very low. Other than that, I am hoping to go home this afternoon! This site really helped me prepare for my surgery and I want to thank you all for the support. Now on to my recovery. Can't wait to see the difference once I am fully healed!!!
Good luck sister,
I wish you all a happy and speedy recovery
Cheryl

Had Davinci hysterectomy about 3pm yesterday evening. I'm now at home resting. The Doctor and hospital staff were great. I'm a bit tired but plan to take advantage of the sleep now. Thanks everyone for all your support. Glad to be out of the castle and home getting pampered. :-)

I had dvh at 7:30 this morning. I am still at the castle and am having a hard time sleeping even on Morphine. Blood Pressure is low and breathing isnt great due to my asthma. am only able eo maintain good pulsox on full oxygen. very frustrated. pain is moderate. staff here is wonderful and at 2:30 am it is silent.
