Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 12-Dec 18,2011

Went out today for my first real outing since my surgery on 12/13. Went to a Chanukah party at synagogue where all i did was talk to friends and sit. i also sang one song for the event. Totally wore me out. Worried about friday because my only niece is getting married. It is a small wedding at a home for just family and friends but it is a 2 hour drive each way and will be a really long tiring day. If a small gathering at temple for 2 hours wore me out, how am i going to make it through the day on Friday? I plan to take my meds to keep ahead of the pain and hopefully there will be place for me to rest. I will probably sleep on the road as well.
I suspect that no matter how hard i try, i will be overdoing it on Friday but i can't help it as i will NOT miss this wedding.

Today has been one week and one day since my TVH.... I feel great other than feeling a little helpless regarding housework... I have went shopping 2 days this week (no driving or pushing shopping cart)... I actually put on my first pair of jeans since the surgery and wore them comfortable... It just felt good to get out of the house and walk... Happy Healing Ladies

Had a davinci surgery on 12/15 - left ovaries since they looked ok upon further exam. I laid low since returning home the next day. Had pain and gas but that was expected. I will say I felt like I took a few steps back after my first bm. I actually took a pain pill due to the feeling it left me with. Hoping the next few are *better*. Planning on maybe an outing after Christmas to the stores. Looking forward to fully recovering and getting back into my real clothes. Hope all of you have a wonderful New Year and a year full of Great Health! )

A little trick my one nurse told me when I was still at the castle was to take a deep breath and blow out slowly like you are doing it through a straw. She said it relaxes the pelvic muscles. It really worked for me. Hope it helps!

Haven't needed anything for pain at all today, although there was one moment this morning...but it subsided and I feel pretty good, actually.

Zero abdominal muscle tone whatsoever, which seems odd since I have no incision there, but I guess there was a lot of action inside.
