It's only been 6 days post op, and I'm going stir crazy! My mom and daughter are giving the house a good cleaning today, so I took the dust rage and dusted the tops of things. Felt good to get up and do something. She brought the laundry down, and I sat on my princess chair and folded. I'm anxious for tomorrow! I get to get out of the house for a little while.. even though it's to the doctor to get the staple removed! I know I need to take it slow... I need a simple hobby.
Each day I feel better, and I'm looking forward to Christmas Eve at my sisters.

Hope everyone is doing great!

For me, the doctor said after 2-3 days if the soreness was gone, but it's been a week and a day and the soreness still isn't gone. I did drive down to my mom's house (less than 1/4 mile probably) once and I moved the car a little bit so my husband could fit under the carport with a load of wood. The discharge sheet from the hospital said 2 weeks. I figured I would be driving myself to my follow-up appointment, which will be at 2 weeks. I kinda wish my first real driving wouldn't be a 45 minute drive each way, though. I may take my son to his piano lesson the day before. It's about 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back. Can you tell we're rural?

I unfortunately had a setback. I spiked a fever last night of 101.1 and had to go in this morning. As it turns out I didn't use my incentive spirometer enough and wound up with fluid in my lungs that is the beginning of pneumonia. My incisions are healing nicely though. I just have to do a lot of coughing and deep breathing for the next week and hopefully things will get better so that I don't have to go back to the hospital I hope that everyone else is doing well...Merry Christmas!!!

Day 8 for me. Hard to believe it. I feel pretty good, but I've been very lonely with the family gone. They'll be back tomorrow afternoon and it'll be better then. I think people are "leaving me alone to heal". Either that or I don't have the friends I thought. No one has called me or stopped by all day. Kinda depressing. I took a walk around the block today, got 3/4 the way around and wanted to stop. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow if it doesn't snow much. I can see why people start thinking about returning to work quickly. I have some discomfort in my belly area, but most pain I get is in my back--I think from doing so much laying around. I still can't sit comfortably in a chair that's not heavily padded, though. I'll take next week...but maybe I'll start going in for a couple of hours a day on Jan. 2nd. I'm lucky, no one will bat an eye if I'm there one minute and gone the next. I'm so bored!

I'm on day 8 too, and I'm bored. It's been raining for 2 days straight so I haven't been able to walk outside. Last night I went out and had to sit in a regular chair for a couple of hours. It was really bad because of the back pain. I'm hoping in a few more days that will be better.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 12-Dec 18,2011

Actually left the house yesterday and today. Went and finished Christmas shopping last night. Walked into the store but used a scooter around the store. It still tired me out.

Went to the dr. to have my incisions looked at. They took off the steristrips and said all looks good. Forgot to ask the dr. about the endo. Went to the hardware store but used a scooter there too. Good thing, the walk out to the car was pretty slow.

I'm only taking the ibuprofin but am pretty sore right now. I haven't been napping lately but have to spend some time lying down every day. I couldn't imagine driving right now, I have a lot of problems twisting around and would never be able to back up. Also, bumps are not my friend still.

My nurse told me to take a deep breath and exhale slowly too as she pulled it out.....wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.

I was told one week. The davinci is amazing. Although I am not doing too well tonight. I would not be able to go any distance. They were short drives. Will need pain meds soon.
