Poking feeling inside? 4.5 weeks post

Every now and then, I get a sharp poking feeling at the top of my vagina. Most similar in sensation to a splinter or something. Not debilitating or anything but a bit uncomfy and I find myself shifting around. The external stitches on my belly are dissolving and are sharp at the ends, and I'm wondering if the sharpness I'm feeling is from stitches dissolving or something else. Anyone else experience this?

Hi,

Yes, I am getting those sharp pains as well. It comes suddenly and then it is gone. Are you also feeling a little burning sensation when urinating?

I am glad you are feeling better.

Those wonderful healing feelings! Just think of all the knitting back together that is going on with those pokes. I've got them too.

I asked about this earlier in the week. Was told it might be internal stitches dissolving. Was happening quite a lot on Friday - much better today. I'm 5 weeks post op. Happy healing!

Yes, totally normal.
That will go away, sooner or later.
Not sure what it is - nerves spasming, something knitting together?? but it just seems to be part of the healing, and if you think of it that way it won't be scary.

It truly takes a long time to heal and be totally without some spasms and twinges but the sharp stabbing pains don't last so long.

kbid--
please be assured that those "pains" are completely normal..I had them as well and my doctor told me it was from the stitches at the vaginal cuff.

Yolanda--
just make sure that you do not have a urinary tract infection if you are feeling burning...that is also common.
