Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 02-Jan 08,2012
WooHoo it's snowing in Nashville, has been for the past few hours. Only in Nashville can it snow for hours and the be no accumulation!
Anyone seen a posting from LZ? She's been on my mind and in my prayers today.
I have a TMI question for those of you who have already "played around" with hubby - externally of course. I dated my husband for 2 years before we got married and have been married for almost 27 years, and I have to tell you, I feel like a teenager fixing to have sex for the first time and we aren't going to "go all the way" just a little "external pleasure". When I have thought about it today my palms have gotten sweaty, my stomach feels like it is in knots... I am a bundle of nerves mixed with excitement combined with being scared out of my mind. I don't know what to expect. My doctor hasn't released me to have full intercourse thank God as having sex right now scares me to death!
Please tell me this is normal or am I being a big baby and need to Woman Up and put my lipstick on.
On a different note, my just returned my call regarding my PMS symptoms. He said that my body is still hormonal in that I will have PMS type symptoms for a little while. He said we may need to adjust my HRT, but he wanted me to give it a couple of more weeks to see if I readjust after this time. He said for me to take ibuprofen and stay away from caffeine, and chocolate with exception of Valentines Day. He also said to use the heating pad and to double up on my water as that will help with my swelly belly/bloating. He wants to see me on the 20th which will be after I return to work to see how I am doing. He also reminded me that I haven't been released for "full contact" intercourse and that me and hubby needed to behave ourselves on Valentines Day and for a couple of more weeks but he said we could play "touchy feely". With that I wished him a good weekend and we hung up. He's so funny.

My friends have said laser is permanent. The caveat is that the hair must be dark, it can't be blond or white or grey. Also keep in mind that if you get new hair growths, I am sure they can come in, however to have most gone, that is great, and then do touch up treatments over time.
Those electrolysis kits for your own use, I would be concerned about having a problem with them as you aren't professional and it is much safer to have a licensed professional do this for you. I have some white hairs coming in and I am thrilled because at least when they grow out you can't see them as much and I can trim them in between my visits and not see anything. You just need to have the white ones with a day of growth so the person who does the work can see them o.k. with the lighting they use and the magnifying glass they are usually all taken.

Belly band, helps so much, I couldn't live without it. The support you get from the belly band makes all the difference. I didn't have ab surgery and it has been life changing for me. Also, being able to put ice packs in the pocket for my tummy has been amazing. made all the difference.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 02-Jan 08,2012
Popcorn. I did not know you were in Nashville. We went there for Christmas 15 years ago and I loved it. Was just telling a friend last week that I would love to go there again.
Hair- my "hairy" friend spent thousands of dollars on hair removal and it helped, but they did eventually grow back, not quite as thick but still....
Helpful hints- I bought an iPad I preparation for this surgery and it has been my constant companion. I could not pull the laptop onto my lap or even stand having I put there for first few weeks.
Rosacea- and adult acne- have a strong correlation with hormone levels so look into that, maybe tweaking hrt will help.
Popcorn-your dr sounds awesome. I am hoping this pms thing is why I have had migraines this week. Although today even friends of mine that do not normally get headaches have been texting me as they have bad headaches so they knew I must be having a migraine for sure. The temperature dropped 30 degrees overnight. Yay. Not.
Ok ladies let's try and correlate our helpful hints and get them on a thread for others to read. Keep posting them here and I will make a total list and post it after the weekend. Give us a few days to brainstorm.
My couch fuzz and hair was driving me nuts so thought of using the lint brush-awesome! It now looks vacuumed and cared for and did not take too much effort. I did a bit then went and did something else. Finally it is all done. My darn dog is getting too spoiled with me home. She is not normally allowed in living room and has even been in bed and on the couch with me when I needed extra comfort. Now she thinks it is her right!
Popcorn: totally agree with you on excitement of playing around with hubby. It was awesome first time a few days ago. I was more sore the next day but I had also over did things around house too so not sure which it was. Good luck. My biggest problem was wanting to do more...hubby will have to be the police on that one in the coming weeks as I am sure i will be begging
Must say I am not pleased with my weight gain over last 6 weeks.....oh well. Trying to not let it get to me. Worried I will not have any pants to where out ans about. Should have kept some of my fat jeans and pants but passed them on to another girl dieting with me. Figured it would help me mentally to not have them around to fall back into!!new wardrobe was a big reward. Oh well. One thing at a time.
Those of you back to work and taking today off...I am glad you are listening to your bodies.
Ok, now I need some helpful hints on how to find intimate time with your guy once your kids get older. Mine always were in bed early enough it was not an issue but lately my daughter comes back downstairs at 10-10:30 to go to bathroom, which is right beside our bedroom.

Endodaisy...wishI had tips for you on the older kid thing! We finally just told our son that if he came near our room after nine thirty, we weren't responsible for what he might hear. Haha...that did it! We were kind of joking, but he wasn't sure.
Our kids are going to a retreat this weekend, so we will be all alone....oh, help me! I hope I am strong enough to resist jumping the gun (and my hubby) before I am released for sex! Feel free to hold me accountable on that. I have done everything else and am feeling good now....so hard to believe that wouldn't be okay, too!

Popcorn, turn down the lights or light the candles, put on some romantic music, have a glass of wine...and yes! put on that lipstick, girl, and go for it!! I gave myself a "test run" a couple of weeks ago without any problems. I'm not cleared for intercourse for a week yet...also a little nervous about that, but "outercourse" has been wonderful!
I am soooo tempted myself for intercourse, but don't want to delay it by injuring anything that isn't quite ready. And of course it's like forbidden fruit--you want it even more!
I don't have tips for older kids, either, except that when they're gone--wooo hooo!

Girls the lipstick is on!!!
Endodaisy - our kids are 16 years apart - yes, ya'll do the math... 16 years apart... With our oldest her bedroom was on the same side of the house as our bedroom, we kept the television on and just had to contain ourselves which was not always easy, but it did add a bit of a frisky challenge. Now that she is out married and we are in a different house, our son's bedroom is on the opposite side of the house which is very nice. Our bedroom door is always locked and the television is always on. As for what show is on the t.v. we always have some type of action movie and we have the volume set to something like 12-15 on the volume setting. There is also that time when the kids are out of the house for soccer or karate practice. The time challenge gives it another sexy part to fooling around!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 02-Jan 08,2012
Hi Ladies,
I got a call from my Gyn office about my latest blood work. It appears that my body is not absorbing the progesterone cream that I was on before the surgery and it is also not responding to my vivelle patch. She is going to order me a bio-identical form of estrogen and progesterone in pill form and hopes that it will take. I was also on testosterone and those levels are too high right now. I have to stop for two weeks and then go to every other day. My dhea was low and vit d was low. I am really hoping that this new adjustment will do the trick. So tired of being tired, moody and brain foggy. And now with this head cold, it's really put me over the edge. I am so thankful I took more time off.
