LOL, Popcorn...I prefer the mental picture of your first post about your workday!! Nine boxes...and all that organizing. I bet you are tired. So sweet of hubby to give you a backrub! Take care with the rest of your week.

What a day, Popcorn! I bet you're exhausted! Ha, ha, silly me pictured you on the floor in your boss's (empty) office and hoped you didn't get fuzz on your suit! Duh, there's a couch.

I, on the other hand, took two slow (had 4 year old with me) walks to toss rocks into the lake in our subd, played with little cars on the bed, and sat on the swing outside... and I am pooped! I thought about you teachers yesterday at my son's preschool class' valentines day party and decided that you must be made of titanium and eat your wheaties in the am. After dropping valentines into the kids' bags, setting up their plates with snacks, and watching them eat, I was starting to consider which one would be the easiest to steal a chair from!

Ellie, I hope your infection clears up
soon! UTIs are awful!

You girls are all awesome! Thank you for posting!! And scorp, thanks to your husband for the joke.

Good Evening ladies:

I'm exhausted but of course, can't sleep. I napped from 9-11 this morning then went to help with my 4th graders valentines party (snow day yesterday). 20 4th graders was more than I remember. I used to teach 4th grade and I don't know if it's me or the times/kids but whoa!!!

We went to church tonight. I still have a hard time standing the entire praise & worship and sitting the entire sermon. Going back to work next week to sit 9 hours/day is going to be rough!!!

I gave an awful stabbing feeling in my belly button and on either side, but mostly the left. My husband is positive wont be able to go back to work full time next week, if I can even go at all. He wants (keeps lecturing me to be honest with the doctor) the doc to keep me off another week or two. I don't think thats a bad idea, what are the chances? I'm eligible for 26 weeks of disability...I'd like to be able to make it through the day, I can't do that here now...who thinks I'll be able to do it at work in just a few more days?

Endo: you're in Canada, is it common for the doc yo give extra time there?

Anyone know if it is here in the us?

dboroff

I would tend to agree with your DH and level with your Dr.
As in all things some Drs do and some Drs don't

I'll be honest with the doctor because, although I am a pretty tough girl, I honestly don't think I can make it through the day, which makes me sad

I'll let y'all know what the dr says, I go on Friday morning.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 02-Jan 08,2012

Hi all, Did my first 8 hour day today, couldn't wait til I got home and could crawl in bed and turn on my heating pad and put my cold pack in my belly band. My brain says my body can move like normal but it can't. I was lifting too much this morning, and I called my doc to check my weight limitations today and they are still only 5 lbs. so I need to seriously slow down til I see him again on the 28th.I think I need to start taking a half a xanax to start the day, just so I don't want to come in and do too much moving around. Haven't had the energy to catch up on how the rest are the you are doing, but I think about you all all day, and actually spoke to the girls at work about this site and how much you've all taught me! Hope you're all doing ok..

I don't remember who was talking about their bucket list and doing things now before we're in our 60s but that is a great thing to live by. None of us know when our time will come but I think (for me anyhow) this experience has made me open my eyes as to where I am going in life. I feel like I'm at a crossroads and it's definitely making me re-evaluate what's important. I am trying to get a closer relationship with god and really trying to hear which way he wants me to go. I know several other people are examining their choices with work, others are heading back to work (good luck ladies!), and all of us are struggling with emotions, pain, smells, discharges, swelling, and such. I'm so very grateful to have this venue to vent, share and learn from. You ladies have definitely become my sisters that I never had. I appreciate each and every one of you. I pray for you all and your families every day. Thank you for your concern. Have a restful, healing evening and a great day tomorrow. Good night!
thank you for posting this... I adore my job, but I really think I may be getting to old for the physical reauirements of it, and have been seriously thinking of moving on b/c like you I have been having joint issues. I hate the idea of being chained to a desk, but I'm starting to hate the idea of my current job even more. I'm glad I'm not alone.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 02-Jan 08,2012

Dboroff. I don't know how common it is. My doc says I really should have a few more weeks to heal completely. I am taking this without pay but know I need to for my health. I think 4-6 weeks is still the norm. But hey, I am not normal! Never have been. My theory is I need to be doing everything else to the fullest before throwing work into the mix. I might work a part day one day next week but at this point don't plan on working til the following, mid week which would be 8 weeks on the Wednesday. Listen to your husband. He know you and cares for you. No sense jeopardizing your recovery now. For me I know if I go back, they are going to want me to work the weekend which is a fullmx9 hours on my feet without tech help....too much. So an extra reason to sty off a little longer.
