Bowel prep

This is no joke! I've already drank half the bottle. There is no substance to my poo at all. It's just clear yellow water. Is this normal?
It's so hard to drink this stuff. I know I need to quit being a baby and suck it up but it's hard.

Re: Bowel prep

I couldn't stop gagging after a sip of that stuff! I cheated and went with ducolax instead. The doctor didn't say anything about it after surgery. I did wait till morning to do my enema which his instructions were anytime after 8pm. I noticed my poop would come in waves...sometimes some substance and sometimes just water.

Re: Bowel prep

I know that it does not taste that good. Just follow your doctors instructions and drink the amount you are supposed to.

I had some liquid-type bowels as well. I know it is strange. I was moving bowels into the next morning. I asked if I did something wrong, and the pre-op nurse said that no that sometimes that happens. Everyone is different.

Good luck. We will see you on the other side.

Re: Bowel prep

I started mine at 1 PM and other than a little action about 45 min in, things have been normal. I got so concerned I called my Dr. after hours. She called right back and said that the single-dose phosphate she had me take is very mild and not to worry if things don't empty out. It isn't really needed for daVinci and they don't want me to get dehydrated. Truthfully I wish she'd have had me skip it. It was so salty and then I ran around like a crazy person this AM trying to get it all done before I started. Oh well, at least there are less than 24 hours to go.

Re: Bowel prep

As long as you followed the directions, it should be okay. I also did the mag citrate. I remember it took some time before mine started to work (four or five hours). And I was also worried. Everyone is different. It will work with your system and you will be fine. You may be like me and go into the morning as well..

Good luck with your surgery. We will be waiting for you on the other side.
