Canada - Please indicate where you're from

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and loving browsing through. I'm from Coquitlam, BC. I'm a teacher and musician and mom...I lead a very hectic life. Would love to hear from anyone in the tri-cities area about their experiences!

Oh Canada!

Hi this is barbaraC and I am from Tillsonburg Ontario. I am 2 almost 3 weeks post op. I got this website info from a client in St. Catharines that said this is a great site. I had it all done, and feel like I should get the licence of the truck that hit me. I was suppose to have had my surgery on April 8th but SARS put a screw in the works which means I am not as far along now as I had hoped to be by now. I am an active person and cannot believe how hard it is to just go for a short walk. I am looking forward to learning more about this site and thanks for letting me check in.

Thanks for the reply Melly. Innerkip is indeed close to the burg. I am probably doing myself a disservice sitting here typing as sitting is one of the things I am finding tough. I am wondering with all the work I had done just how long I am looking at for pain, bladder leaks, and gas. I had hoped things would have started to ease up by now, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I walk whenever I can in order to deal with the gas but it seems insufferable the last two days and I won't even get into how bad things are with my bowels. I am tired of being told by my doctors that this is all normal. For how long am I going to have to put up with "normal"?

Hi Barbara
Everyone is different, as we all know, but all your pain and discomfort is pretty normal. If you had anything terribly wrong, you would know it. I found that the 3rd week was my worst week for pain. Maybe that's when the anest. started to wear off (?). Be patient for another couple of weeks, you're still very early into your recovery. Best of luck and it's nice to meet someone so close.
If you'd like to e mail me with any or all your concerns, please feel free. I'd love to help answer any questions you have.

Take Care,
Melanie
