Fibroid prolapsed into vagina now no choice

I have been avoiding having the surgery for over a year and now I have no choice. I know it may sound strange, but I feel r

Relived in a way that I no longer have a choice. Surgery is scheduled for the 31st. I'm looking forward to living a normal pain, bleeding free life.

Does any one else suffer from this? I'm 4cm dilated and fully effaced. Dr said that they will have to take my cervix too, as it is too thin to be saved. He is leaving my ovaries even though cysts have been a problem for me. I'm just so tired of being in pain! But sad and scared at the same time

Re: Fibroid prolapsed into vagina now no choice

Hey, sweetie. I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I do understand that you would feel relieved to finally have this done, especially if you have been dealing with pain for quite a while. Your mixture of emotions is normal, and may intensify and swing widely as your surgery day approaches. Know that the women on this site understand this, and know what you are going through. Post as often as you need. It really helps.

(((Hugs))))

Re: Fibroid prolapsed into vagina now no choice

I certainly hear you about the difficulty we have making decisions. I can become easily resigned to something once the decision is made for me, but faced with a choice, I have to weigh all of the options, and then second guess whether I did that well enough, and so it goes.

It sounds like the decision was difficult for you when you were being asked to make it, and so there could very well be an aspect of grief or loss for you after the surgery. If that happens, makes sure you talk about it. Here is one good place, if you don't know anyone else who can support you with it. However, I hope that the difference in how you feel (so much better) will help you know that the decision was a good one.

I feel so much better after the surgery, and so I am not left feeling like there is any loss. Just a life to be lived. I hope you feel the same way.

Re: Fibroid prolapsed into vagina now no choice

I was so glad to finally get rid of my fibroid and begin a life without bleeding, pain, and anemia. There are so many positive things that you will enjoy once you make it through the surgery. You are in the company of many ladies who understand. I have to say, I just love wearing white in the summer again! Keep your chin up.
