Post - TAH a few years after leukemia diagnosis TAH a few years after leukemia diagnosis

I was diagnosed with Leukemia in March 2006 and have had many other diagnosis of problems I have never had before since then. I did not really struggle with my periods and have 3 children with no problems ever getting pregnant. I was having so much pain over the course of the last 3 years and my energy level was decreasing dramatically. I talked with my oncologist and he felt that it was the result of the chemo. I also had severe tenderness to my abdominal area. The doctors kept telling me that it was because of the constant struggles I have with constipation and diarrhea. I went to the GI docs and they did colonoscopies and I also went to the gyn just to see because I was in so much pain. The gyn docs would do ultrasounds on my ovaries and turn up nothing, so they would tell me it was nothing wrong with my reproductive organs. I was having extreme pain with a bowel movement and clawing at the walls every time I had one. Over the 3 year period I had gone to GI about 6 times and GYN about 5 times. I just figured since I was having trouble going to the bathroom then it would be a GI issue. I continued to talk with my oncologist over and over again. I just kept getting the run around. I would deal with it for a little while and then I would get desperate. I would stop my chemo therapy to see if it would bring me some relief. It would relieve a little of the pain for a while, but I can't go long without it because then the cancer goes hog wild. My longest chemo break was 3 months. I had to go back on the chemo and the issues continued to escalate. I finally went back to the GYN and told them I wasn't leaving until they did a laparoscopy. I had been to every other doctor and they were my last resort. I insisted they at least go in and look. The doc I had agreed and we scheduled the laparoscopy for the next week. They went in and discovered stage 4 adynomyosis and endometriosis. She closed me up because she needed a very skilled doc to do my surgery. I had to wait again to see a gyn oncologist that could detach my rectum without doing any damage, so a month later I had the second surgery to remove it all. My rectum and my uterus were completely fused together and everything was stuck to the uterus. I had to have everything removed. The surgery took 6 hours and they had to cut from my pubic bone to my belly button because there were so many adhesion's. I also had extreme inflammation in the abdomen. I was badly anemic after surgery, but opted not to have a transfusion because of the leukemia. I had a bladder and yeast infection the week after surgery and then during Christmas I had an abscess in the abdomen that put me back in the hospital. I am still having the pain with the bowel movement and am having really bad night sweats even with estrogen replacement therapy. Hopefully things will start to get better, I have read so many stories that it takes a long time for recovery so I am gonna hold out for a brighter day. I am curious if anyone else has leukemia and have had similar issues. It is a difficult process, but I know we can get through it.
Thanks for listening.
