Neecie- I had bladder spasms after my c-section and was worried about them with this surgery, because I remember how awful they were. I only had a few when my bladder wasn't working right. I hope they go away soon for you too
Elotta- I am so jealous! I can't believe you are going to a concert. I just want to be able to walk for 5 minutes outside of my house! have fun, but be careful and don't overdo it
Myteacher, thanks! I have dry heaves, too. I simply do not eat when i feel nauseas and that seems often. Three weeks ago today was my surgery, and it helps to know i am not alone.

******

I have not had dry heaves with this which is shocking! I did a lot beforehand. I hate them. I hope they will pass... You must be sensitive to all the meds?

Hey ladies, just checking in since tomorrow is 3 weeks for me. I am feeling well just a tad sore. I keep forgetting about my stomach and try to do things like reach for the remote without putting my leg rest down and crawling on the floor looking for the lego pieces my son has lost under the couch. I really hadn't had much time to slow down thanks to my mother in law but now that she is back to her own house, I have slowed considerably and I think that has made me listen to my body more. All is going well though. No issues. Take care all.

Post op 20 days today, pain is still vicious by the 8hr, motrin & vicodin helps w/ that. Saw my doc yesterday & he advised me nothing wrong w/ me still needing meds so he refilled my vicodin. I had a lot of energy week 1 & 2 not so much now, lots of achey pain & stinging...but its part of the healing process. I'm looking forward to no more pain after I'm healed!!!

It amazes me how I feel after surgery. This was certainly not my mother's hysterectomy from 12 years ago.

Holy cow!!! I was going through a 20 pack in 2 days and I thought that was a lot. Last week would of been the week I got my period and it was so wonderful not to have to deal with that.

I agree! My mother had her hysterectomy 28 years ago. She can't believe how quickly I am recovering and that I only have 4 tiny holes in my stomach. She was cut from her belly button down to her pubic bone and has a terrible scar. She told me she had to spend 8 days in the hospital and wasn't allowed to do anything except walk back and forth to the bathroom for 8 weeks. Yikes! I was going stir crazy by the end of week 1. No way could I have spent 8 weeks in bed.

Day 20 - I'm doing really well. The bladder spasms were kind of bad last night but I took some of the meds the doctor gave me and that helped. I'm still getting really tired after 4-5 hours of living life so I'm still taking my afternoon nap. I don't have any pain at all and haven't taken any motrin since Friday. I do get a bit achy around my belly button area if I do too much but laying down and a quick nap fix that.

I have my 3 week post-op appt today. I'm hoping she lifts some restrictions so I can do a bit more. I have a whole list of questions for her. She's going to get so sick of me and my lists. I will let you know how I make out.

Here is a question for everyone... Has the texture of your hair changed? I have always had a lot of poker straight hair and after my shower this morning, have noticed a bit of body to my hair and it feels a little more coarse than before... maybe just a trick of my mind but seems kind of wierd... anyone else?
