Just when I was starting to feel great...so upset!!!!
Oh Meka! Don't be upset. I had the silver nitrate a week ago. I had a tingly, crampy feeling, too. It went away after a few days.

I felt so good yesterday that I did laundry all day and then went out with a friend last night to be "kidfree" for a bit. Here is my suggestion for everyone with laundry (if you can do it) ...
Have your partner/kids bring the laundry to the laundry room for you put it in the washer, put it in the dryer, put it in a basket and have them bring it somewhere for you so you can sit to fold it or even better have them fold it and put it away for you! That has been my plan of attack and is working well!

Raven: I find when I walk too much or try to do too much that is when I feel the pulling and I need to either slow down or stop completely (depending on what it is I am doing).

Feeling a bit sore today but it is also really foggy and damp here today so let's chalk it up to that....

Hope everyone has another great day today or starts to have great days!!

I'm a little concerned, because my gyn isn't giving me an internal at all until my regularly scheduled yearly in June. I had a TAH. He said that u was cleared for sex. When I asked if he was concerned with scar tissue or my vaginal cuff he said no. I haven't had any internal done since my surgery. I hear others on here saying they have had problems with their cuff. Could it be the type of surgery I have had that doesn't require this? I was concerned, but he said it wasn't a big problem and he will check me in June. I've had no issues with bleeding or discharge at all. Should I be worried?

It amazes me how each doctor has a different protocol. I've already had 3 internals. The first at 2 weeks when I had that bacterial infection from the bentadine. Then I had my 3 week and 6 week. I have my 8 week on Monday because of the scar tissue. But, I've had a discharge from day 1 and started bleeding week 5 so maybe that's why I had so many. I honestly don't know what to tell you. If you have confidence and trust in your doctor, I would follow his advice.

I know! I haven't seen my gyne yet. I see her next Monday for my 8 week but I have seen my family doctor, ER doctors (x3), had two ultrasounds (both internal and external) and 1 internal as well.

I am feeling much better than I have in a long time and that was after doing laundry all day yesterday Today I am going to do some vacuuming and cleaning and we will see how I am feeling. Work is getting really busy and while I have offered to go back early, the boss wants me 100% before going back. Who knows... I may get a call still... getting stir crazy being home all day...

Thanx for the info. I will try the heating pad

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 30-Feb 05,2012

Hi Sisters,
Had my 7 week appt today and probably my 4th internal exam. I still have granulations on the vaginal incision and had the silver nitrate again. I am never very comfortable after that! I have to go back in 2 weeks again. I was expecting a slight discharge, but now I am bleeding. I haven't bled since week 2. I guess I will call if I am still bleeding in the morning.
I also decided to try to go back to work on Thursday. I am scared about it right now since I am so crampy from having the silver nitrate again. Hopefully I will be back to normal in the morning.
If anyone else is having trouble with headaches, I have not had one in 2days, which is a big deal for me, since starting Magnesium 500mg and a B Complex vitamin! Have a good night

Sisters, I will be 7 weeks post op tomorrow I am trying to decide if I need to go back in to the Dr. AGAIN! Does anyone else sometimes get a throbbing pain ( like after hitting your thumb with a hammer) in your vagina? I have it snd am not sure if something may be wrong. I really don't want to go in again!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 30-Feb 05,2012

If I stand or sit or walk for too long I get a horrid dragging pain from my naval right through my vagina so I have to lie down until it goes off (and it can take two hours to go off). It helps if I immediately take 2 paracetamol and then give in and rest in bed (doesn't seem to ease if I lie on the couch for some reason). Are your BM ok too? I started taking Mil Par every night (I live in UK) which has helped enormously. I had TAH and tummy tuck and a fibroid the size of a rugby ball (and a cyst and other smaller fibroids removed) so it still does feel quite raw even 6 weeks on today. Doc says I have to wear a 'band' (like a corset) for 3 months when I am standing or sitting (as I will have a longer healing time as so much was done). Sleeping on my back gets uncomfortable but I have thrown away all my pads and my compression socks now so I feel I am moving onwards. I know it is a long haul but I manage to do something new, even though small, every day. I still haven't lifted the kettle or anything heavier than that or I get that awful pain. It's a warning sign. The Doc said when it comes on go to bed and watch daytime t.v. I am walking most days for 20 minutes (3 times a week I do 2 walks a day) as I have weight to lose. I felt a lot better starting the Oestrogel. My friend tried the pills and patches and ended up on the gel as it doesn't seem to have so many side effects. My mood and energy are definitely so much better. Still get warm/hot flashes at night but not sweaty and I hear they will ease off as the Oestrogel builds up in my system over time. We shall see. My Husband says the difference in my outlook is amazing. At least it has helped me to remain positive and happy. I am trying one new thing a week. Hairdressers next week. Driving the following week so I can achieve little landmarks. I have to start Pilates gently after 3-6 months as I am told I will suffer with bad lower back pain otherwise because a lot of muscle has gone from that area. I wish you all well. It is so helpful to me to read how you are all doing. It answers questions and helps me know I am not alone. Thank you all for posting. It is tough. We have been through a lot but we are over the worst and moving onwards and upwards to a brighter future. I am so glad I had it all done. My friends told me it would be a positive thing and open up a whole new lease of life and I now agree. Today I am 6 weeks post op and only have another 6 weeks till I get to trash this corset thing. Good luck and happy healing to you all.

GoneCamping- I would insist on an enternal exam before June. It is nerve wracking enough resuming sex after this surgery let alone if no internal is done to check the cuff..
