Hi sisters..

Havent been on in a while.. Just reading up on everyones progress.. Happy most are doing well and sorry for the ones who are not.. ((hugs))

I was 10 weeks this past Tuesday. Still have not tried sex with hubby but going to within another 2 weeks. Overall feeling good aside of the occasional twinge or pinch..

Also Raven: If Miel had *both* ovaries removed and still has a cervix she can not get a mini period. You need at least one ovary and cervix to get it..

Ok sisters.. I will stop back every so often.. Take care

LOL! I completely missed that part of her post. I knew that.

I'm so glad your doing well. Good luck with the sex part. Hubby and I have done it twice so far and I'm still a nervous wreck about it. Hopefully, I will get more comfortable as time goes one.

Hey sisters! Update from my shot panic attack... :-)

Went into the doctor this morning and he talked to me about what he believes is going on with me and gave me an option to have the shot or not. He thinks that the pinchy, crampy, burning feeling is from an irritated nerve and that I am not quite healed up yet from the sutures/surgery. He said that I could wait until about week 12 to see if things start feeling better or I could have the injection. Here's what that's all about...he said he'd give me a pill to relax me, then numb the area, then give me a local anesthesia, then a steroid injection (very small amount). He said that the steroid would help the inflammation and relieve the pain.

I opted for the let's wait another 2 weeks and see how I feel option. :-)

So for now...moving on with "normal" routines and we'll see how it goes!

Thanks for the support!!!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jan 30-Feb 05,2012

Hi ladies, it's been a while!

I'm nearing the end of week 10 and for the most part feeling pretty good. Still not consistently sleeping through the night. I too get the twinge in the middle of the night, usually only once a night but at random times and the only way to relieve it is to get up and empty my bladder. I've taken to peeing as much as possible in the hours after dinner and before bed in an effort to get a full night of sleep. Only been successful a couple of times.

I went to my family doctor today to get my iron levels tested. The iron supplements I have to take are so strong, and I want to check if there are any improvements. My Dr won't just give me a requisition for the lab, so I had to make an appointment to see him and waited for an hour and a half before I got to see him. It was sad to see just how little he knew about endo. He started again to tell me that it should have been controllable with the right hormones. After everything I've been through in the past few years, and probably since I started menstruating, I wasn't in any mood to hear it. I politely cut him off and reminded him the surgeons report stated that everything was being pulled under my uterus and fused together-- so no hormone treatment was going to reverse that. Surgery was the right decision!!

Thank goodness my DH insisted we be referred to specialists. If not, I probably would not be feeling anywhere near as good as I do now. Even with my slowness and aches I am still feeling 10000% better than I was before surgery. Everyday and every week is an improvement and I don't have any regrets.

So I got my requisition for the bloodwork, and will probably have to go back again to get my results, but at least I am now feeling more in control of things.

Hugs to all my hystersisters!

Hello! I'm glad to hear that you are feeling so much better!! I'm feeling much better then before surgery as well...like you, still having some aches and pains here and there and I'm by no means running a marathon, but I'm moving on with my life with a fresh new outlook and I'm loving it!!! Here's to no regrets!

Yay!!!!! Just reading about that made my vagina hurt. I really hope things work out and you don't need the shot. I would be having a panic attack, too. Good luck!

Good for you!!! This past weekend I finally felt so well that I started crying while working out in the yard with DH. It all of a sudden dawned on me that I feel fantastic! I never realized how awful I've felt for the past 5-10 years. It was so nice not have to worry about running inside because I was hemorrhaging worse from exerting myself. Plus, now that I'm not bleeding to death all the time, I'm no longer anemic and have lots of energy. Before I was always so run down, bleeding a lot and in pain but somehow just accepted it as a normal part of my life. I am so mad at myself for putting this off for so long. I'm so grateful for my doctor finally giving me the kick in the pants I needed to get it done and over with. She gave me my life back and I didn't even know I was missing it. I do not regret having my hysterectomy one bit.
