Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 06-Feb 12,2012

No worries. I have been at work. Trying to get things done so we can go on a mini vacation to Seaside Oregon. I am sorry that you are still feeling bad. But very nice to get your nails and toes done. I had mine done a few weeks ago and need to get it done again. Just my toes. My nails have taken a beating with all the endo and surgery the last few months. Hope they come back around. Funny thing, at about 4 weeks recovery, I couldn't take my legs anymore, so I took a pain pill and shaved my legs. My DH laughed at my for that one. Weird thing, I didn't know until I had ctscans for my hysterecomy, that I have gall stones as well. It would explain the pain shooting thru my shoulder the last couple of years. It would come and go, but really bad when I had my cycle. Love to keep chatting. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 06-Feb 12,2012

hello All,

Just checking in to see how everybody's doing. Great to know most of you are doing better and back to work. Went back to work 3 weeks now but I'm still taking things easy. Looks like when they told me I was anemic and needed blood transfusion, it was at the point of being serious. Only stubborn that I am I refused since it was after the surgery and a day before I'm supposed to go home. No transfusion + anemic = very slow recovery.
Though there is nothing seriously wrong (or I would be at my doctor's clinic immediately), I get tired so easily, I still have swelly belly, and my butt hurts when I sit for too long, either that or my legs and feet ache if I stand too long.
When I spoke to my doctor last he said my recovery period can possibly be doubled since I am too anemic and my body lack what it needs to recover. Sadly iron is not tolerated by my body too, so I'm stuck with eating food recommended for anemic people. Tomorrow I insisted that I see my primary physician just to see where I am and if there's anything else he can suggest to alleviate the other discomforts.
Why does all the hard stuff fall onto women? ;p

Hi. Now in 2nd chemo cycle. Shaved hair a week and half ago, wearing wig now, a comfortable one. For the most part I've been doing quite well, pacing self to keep fatigue at bay. Working part-time, for obvious reasons. Radiation prep is Tuesday, was told I cannot gain or lose weight for the next 2 months, bummer. Still, started doing abs exercises, appetite remains good, side effects are manageable so far. Onwards it is!
