Hi all,

I've had to totally over do it the last three days, so I'm not feeling great. However, I can now sleep on my side for a short while (hooray!) and only am using stool softeners, not laxatives, at this point.

Any of you with bladder lifts/sling, are you back to a normal flow yet? I'm still a bit wonky.

For the first time in 25 days I can swallow and chew food without extreme pain. It feels great!!!! Clearly the antibiotics are starting to work. I received a very vague letter from the anaethetist explaining how my throat injury occurred but even my GP can make no sense of. Weird. I was laughing with friends today saying that my throat had hurt me so much that I forgot that I had a hysterectomy

Happy healing to all.

It really can take a while. I also learned after mine that I had to teach myself a new position to pee. I have to lean forward, as if I'm adding extra pressure to my bladder. That has helped a lot, I still have slow flow days now, but I am thinking some might be irritation from my packed ovary pressing on the bladder. My Dr said that it was normal to have to train our bladder new ways to go. Hang in there it will get better!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 06-Feb 12,2012

Hi Everyone!

My recovery has been going great. I had stage 4 endometriosis, uterus, ovaries and appendix all fused together. My uterus and cervix was hard as cement. Had a cyst on both ovaries measuring 9 cm each. A TAH was required losing both ovaries, cervix and appendix. I lost 4 pints of blood because of all the adhesions. I am still having pain in my bladder when I urinate and if I laugh really hard. Is that normal? Is that from the catheter?
