9 Weeks Out - Still Problems

I had an abdominal hysterectomy on Dec 2 because of fibroid tumors in my uterus. I kept my ovaries, but the tumors and my uterus were the size of a cantaloupe, and were removed, along with my cervix.

I went back in the hospital about a week after coming home with severe bladder spasms and then developed an ileus. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life.

I am now 9 weeks post surgery and still have bladder pain when urinating. My main problem though has been recovering from the ileus. I still cannot eat normally, and have lost 25 lbs since surgery. I continue to have pretty serious intestinal issues. It's very depressing.

Some days I wonder if I will ever make a full recovery. I still get exhausted even after showering and I am not yet back at work full time, only part time.

I am hoping this site will help me get answers and a new outlook on my recovery.
