Smile - 3 days post TLH and feeling good 3 days post TLH and feeling good

I am 3 days post op TLH and am pleasantly surprised at how easy the operation was and how well I am feeling now. My initial reason for having a TLH was heavy bleeding even after an endometrial ablation. I was put on a waiting list of 2 months where I changed my mind several times as to whether or not to have it done. Glad I did though. The hospital staff were very kind and caring. Did have a problem with the anaethetist trying to find a vein for the luer as I was dehydrated from the bowel prep and cold. (A nurse covered me with a warm blanket which I was grateful for). Don't remember being in recovery, just woke up back in my room connected to a drip, drain and catheter. Apparently they put antibiotics in the drip and that came out as soon as the bag was empty. The drain and catheter came out 24 hours after surgery. The nurse was very gentle in removing them. Once they were out I felt alot happier. I was able to get out of bed and move around a bit. Did have trouble getting in and out of bed with the stitches pulling in my belly button and at times was quite painful. Now that I'm home I'm feeling tired and my eyesight is a bit blurry. I'm taking paracetamol every 5 hours for the discomfort but otherwise, considering what my body has been through, I feel incredibly well. For anyone considering a hysterectomy, the Hystersisters site has the best information, but I found actually talking to someone who has had a postive experience with TLH even better.
