Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 13-Feb 19,2012

I had TAH the 17th and feel so full. I have to open my legs when I sit because it feels so stuffed and full. This feeling goes all the way up to my ribs. I can't even eat much because I feel like I can't breath. I am glad to hear some one else feels the same way...plus I have been getting periodic chills...no fever.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 13-Feb 19,2012

Day 12 post op full hysterectomy. I have noticed today I have had some cramping and mild bleeding. Not sure what to think with this. Is this normal? It seems today I am hurting more then the past days. This is really the first day I have done this much. So i was wondering is this my body telling me I have done to much or is it normal to have cramping and bleeding nearly 2 weeks after surgery?
I think the hardest part of recovery is I think I feel good and can handle doing things but my body does not feel that way. The fatigue is rough

Eleven days post op, and so tired! I probably overdid things yesterday, as it was my son's birthday party. I had loads of help, and intended to just sit and supervise, but kept forgetting and jumping up to pour juice and pass pizza etc. I didn't do any lifting or anything really daft - but today I've been in more pain than since I came back from hospital. I've spent pretty much the whole day on the couch.... Thank goodness there is nothing more exciting than catching up on tv programmes scheduled for the next few weeks!

My Dr told me the toughest thing I will deal with is crashing fatigue for several weeks...he also said spotting is normal as long as.its not a pad.soaked in an hour and if I have no spotting then have some I may have overdone it.. keep your feet up and pamper yourself!

Re: the bleeding & cramping: I had my surgery on the 13th, and I'm feeling so much better, but I find that if I do a little too much, I get crampy and I leak much more (fluid, pink blood, etc...). It's a clue to STOP and take it easy!!

Well sisters I go back to work tomorrow. Wish me luck. I'm nervous but I'm going to give it the old college try. If I get too tired I'll just do a half day. I feel the same fullness as you all mentioned. Usually right before I have to pee or afterwards. I can really feel my bladder. I guess now that I can tell the difference between my bladder and my uterus since my uterus is gone. I've been resting A LOT today and I will be extremely gentle on myself since I'm trying to work tomorrow.

Best of luck going to work tomorrow onesmartcookie. Seems quick!

My weekend was uneventful although my best friend cleaned out my fridge! And she is quite pregnant! Like everyone fatigue seems to be the biggest issue and cramping. I get stitches put this Wednesday. My plan tomorrow is to get a good walk in early in the day and spend the remainder doing little chores. I never thought folding Landry could be so rewarding!

Best to all! Felice
