Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 20-Feb 26,2012

I too am suffering from insomnia. I figured it was from my chemo, but reading this post it makes me wonder if it is from the surgical menopause. They keep telling me to take the lorazapam I have for my chemo but that doesn't help. I am going to have to call the doctor back this week, I am sleeping about 3-4 hours a night. It is horrid because then I spend the day like a zombie.

Other than the chemo side affects, I am feeling good. Vacuumed for the first time today - that was nice. My daughter just doesn't do that great of a job. I also did some cleaning.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 20-Feb 26,2012

Had a busy week and a big day on Friday. That night at a church service, it was almost over when I had an "I have to leave this instant!" feeling. I felt the life drain out of me, and I was overwhelmed with exhausion. As soon as it was over, I grabbed my stuff and practically ran, walking away from people as they talked to me (probably looked very rude), saying over my shoulder "I'll talk to you tomorrow." I had a half hour drive ahead of me and hoped I would make it home. I was in bed within 5 minutes of getting home. I've never felt such a need to lay down. I wasn't sleepy; I just had to lay down and cease all activity. About 2 hours later, I felt a bit of life in me again. It seems like there was no energy left--none--PLUS there was no reserve of adrenaline to kick in. I'm still tired from it.

Yes Dear Sisters there is a site for our men. Those who actually read it find it most helpful.

My vacuum is so heavy. The dr. restricted me from that and the lawnmower for a few more weeks.

I'm feeling so dragged out after going back to work two jobs, so I'm not too upset that I can't vacuum or mow - if I go to bed early I hardly even notice!

Wish me luck this week - busy, busy, plus a field trip!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 20-Feb 26,2012

Hello Sisters! I had my 6 wk check last week. Everything went well. My doctor told me I can resume all activities just take it slow and listen to my body. I have begun walking and will start water aerobics this week hopefully. I still swell in my lower belly at the end of the day and have some soreness. Especially if my clothing is too snug. But, since I have lost weight that is rarely a problem. I am down almost 3 sizes. I can't wait to shop for cute underwear

Be healthy sisters and take your time. I still need more rest than I ever did and have to stop and remember I have a long way to go.
