Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 05-Mar 11,2012

Just wondering how everyone's spotting is going? I think I jinxed myself posting about how slow mine was this morning because today it picked up again. It is red and not heavy to fill a pad by any means but it IS heavier. Could my internal stitches be dissolving? Anyone have in increase in bleeding 4-5 days post op?

MrsP - I'm 8 days post op and for the last 2 I've noticed a change. Heavier (even today when I did absolutely nothing) not red, more of a dark yellow/light brown. Frustrating when there was nothing before!

My husband is mad at me because he thinks I tore some stitches.. I HAVE been doing too much, walking, carrying the kids etc.. but it is next to impossible with two kids under 2 to not pick them up on be on the move!
I will put my feet up more tomorrow and see if it doesn't slow down a bit.

MrsP, I'd give the dr a call just to let them know, just incase

It's just that I know the doctor will want me to come in to cover his butt and he is almost an hour away.

The medicine pump was a god send for me.

I went out before surgery and bought the thick pads because I heard I would bleed after surgery. I haven't had a period since 05/09 when I had an ablation. I had a little bit of pink when I wiped the first 2 days but never bled. I'm 8 days post op and still nothing. I was lucky! I have pads to give away now.

Make sure you do as doctors say because if you tear anything inside during your healing then you will make scar tissue which hooks organs together that shouldn't be. That is painful. That is why they say to rest for 2 weeks! I have made my heating pad and my recliner my best friend! Let the work wait!

I had surgery on mar 6 davinci partial hyster. Kept my ovaries thankful for that!! I'm a week out and just plain miserable. I have had several surgeries so I was a been there done that girl but OMGeez. I had no idea what I was in for. I'm do glad I found this site. My sur was pretty straight forward and the hospital stay was annoying be ause I wasn't lowed to rest and because I was a GOOD patient I was pretty much ignored. I went two hrs past med time because they wouldn't come in my room when called. after settling that issue it went fast and I was home the next day. The pain has been so different than any other procedure in that it's not even the visible incisions that hurt. It's everywhere else. I'm constipated really bad and taking stool softners. I'm taking Motrin 800 and half a Vicodin seems good to manage a 12 hr time. Today was a doozy eith the steri strip allergy i posted about earlier. I had to remove them and they are extremely itchy and welted. It's so uncomfortable!!
But each day I can walk more and stay awake longer. Just can't do much and that's the hard part. I'm a bust mom of four kiddos and giving daddy all the mom stuff is playing on my self worth. He is so gracious and tries hard but I just feel bad. So here's to hoping I feel normal before the six wks and can put this behind me. Good luck and best healing to everyone!!
