Hey ladies. Just thought I would share good news. My recovery has been super slow due to all my health issues but this week I turned a corner! I was finally able to go down the stairs to the first floor of our house. It is kinda sad how exciting it is to be sitting on a couch instead of my bed. Also, I can see outside. It's not really pretty since March in Manitoba, Canada is still kinda cold but I love that I can look! I even cut down my morphine pills from 4x a day to 2x a day. I feel so much better but I will still do nothing but sit and walk and eat and sleep. Just wanted to let you ladies out there with slow recoveries like mine know that it gets better. Little by little, we will get there!
Yeah! Good for you!

So far I'm doing really good, I don't have much pain, i could sleep on my side, my belly is almost back to normal, im driving a little bit, and I have more energies. I do walk around the house and rest. I'm just a little frustrated because I still walk very slow. I would like to know how everybody else is doing about walking because I've been reading how other ladies are already on their treadmill or walking alot. I just want to know if it is normal to be walking very slow at 3 week post op, would really appreciate replies
I am three weeks post op abdominal everything except ovaries. My recovery has went very well. I am slow at walking! My daughter told me at walmart it was like being with grandma! If I were on my treadmill it would probably be set at 1.0 !

I just cannot get over how unbelievably tired I am. I am not having the crampy pain I was having thank goodness, I just feel like I've taken sleeping pills all the time lol. Anyone else having extreme fatigue?
I don't sleep during the day! Just sit in the recliner where I sat the day I got home from hospital. I go to bed at night with my sweet husband and have since the night I got home! I feel like nothing happened now other than a twinge or two I'm good. But I feel helpless staying home from work everyday! I clean the house and do laundry and cook but that's it! That is my fatigue!!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 05-Mar 11,2012

Amazing how we are all at different places in healing! This site is wonderful so that we can see how we are all doing, and ask questions.

Had a full TAH on 3/6. Drove myself 20 miles for my first post op meeting with my doc today. He said I am doing well, and I can now do upper body exercises up to 10 lbs. I am to continue to walk as much as I can handle, but NO leg lifts or abdominal exercise for 3 more weeks. Also, told to douche 2 times a week for next 3 weeks with a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution to flush dead cells and remains of any sutures from the top of the vagina. Anyone else told to douche?

Will see doc again in 3 weeks. I had everything removed, and am on "the dot". Will do blood work in 2 weeks to see if I am on the right dosage. No menopausal symptoms! YEAH!

Blessings to all for positive healing this week!

The feeling will subside, I had it to an uncomfortableness when peeing, it used to be more of a pressure feeling but now starting to go away. I'm 3weeks post op mentioned to my Dr at my two week apt. He told me the bladder was manipulated & moved from side to side a lot of work was done and so its very tender and the bruising lasts awhile but, will go away.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 05-Mar 11,2012

We all do heal at different rates. My TAH (DaVinci-took all but one ovary) was on 3/6 and I have finally walked 2.1 miles...I am hoping I don't have to pay for it tomorrow...I was super tired on Tuesday and Wednesday but today I was full of energy. I have had issues with sleeping...I can fall asleep easily, but cannot stay asleep....most of the time I wake around 3 or 4 am and can't get back to sleep...frustrating. As for peeing, it is still a bit uncomfortable to pee...not painful, but not 100% normal yet either.
