Relief now surgery is over!

For me the hardest part of the surgery was before hand, getting emotionally ready for it. This was my first surgery and I was very nervous. I know that's natural for everyone to feel that way. So I was so relieved to wake up and know it was all done, and that I was still with my family and friends! I just found this site and will enjoy reading your experiences. so I don't feel alone in this.

April, alot of us feel the same way about surgery; the waiting is the hardest part. I am so glad that everything went well for you.

Relief now surgery is over!

April

Hi! And welcome to the other side. Like you I too was pretty nervous up till surgery date. I was soooo relieved when I too woke up and it was all over. The pain wasn't as bad as I had anticipated and the aftercare in hospital was just great.

I am now 3 1/2 weeks post and it has all been good so far. I'm still pretty much stuck at home - not driving yet.

Just remember to drink plenty of fluids and take things easy. It is really hard to sit back and take it easy when you are used to being active, but you only get one chance to heal, so may as well do it right the first time.

This site is just the greatest. The chat room is a lot of fun also. There is normally someone in there almost all times of the day. It helps talking real time to the other ladies.

I hope your recovery is as uneventful as mine has been so far.

Regards
