Thumbs up - TAH-7 days post op TAH-7 days post op

Today marks 7 days since I had my TAH. The decision to have a TAH was a tough call because I'm only 31, even though I know I didn't want any more kids I always thought the decision to not have children would be mine not because it was medically necessary. After the surgery the results came back from the uterus and removing everything was the right decision and really comforted me with the TAH decision. Now 7 days later I'm moving around, feeling pretty good but get tired very easily. The worst part of the whole procedure for me was right after the surgery. I had extreme lower back pain and no pain medication was helping. The pain was actually like being in labor, I had back labor with all of my pregnancies. What my Dr. told me was that the nerve endings for my uterus were in my lower back which is why I was in so much pain (and why I had back labor) the day after my surgery I would get what I would call "twinges" of pain in my back but by the end of day 2 I was in very little pain. As of right now I'm not taking any type of pain reliever, while I'm uncomfortable it's nothing that I can't handle with rest. Every day gets better and following the dr.'s instructions!
