Good Morning Leslie,

Wow what a small world how ironic. I used to live in Elizabeth 10 years ago. It's only like 15-20 minutes from where I live now.

My DH is from Rockaway. Very small world. Hope you have a great day. I'm praying for you, and all of our sisters. I am spending the day on the couch with my Netflix. Hugs!!

Good Morning to all my sister!

So I think I am getting the hang of this recovery thing now. Some days are good and some days are bad I guess you just have to wait to see what kind of day it will be. Today I am physically feeling alot better than I did yesterday.

One of my classmates from school is suppose to come visit me today when she gets out of class. I am looking forward to seeing her and to actually have some company. I am so bored out of my mind.

My honey was off of work yesterday and he had to go handle some business for his mom. As bad as I was feeling I threw a sweat suit on and headed out with him to her house, I figured I could sit down at her house the same as I was doing here at home. I am glad I went and got a breath of fresh air. But it just reminded me how bad I can't wait to be back to normal and up and out of this house again.

I hope you all have a good day today.

BadKitty, mmmm Ben and Jerry's sounds wonderful! I know this may sound weird, but before my surgery I was addicted to diet cokes. Since the surgery, I have no taste for soda at all! I totally quit soda and am drinking water and tea a just a few juices. I feel better and can tell a difference. Hardly no heartburn and I sleep better. My four tummy (I call them) ports are healing nicely, itching inside a bit, but not too much. Taking the stool softeners still and no problems with bowel movements. Energy level seems to be increasing. Other than the physical limitations and the emotional slingshot I feel is my brain, I (hesitantly) can say I feel I am on the right track. I do hate that my husband can walk faster than I can! But hopefully for not much longer! Keep the faith ladies and thanks for being here! HUGS!!

Well, tonight, we went to get dinner and before I even realized what I was doing, I had eaten about half of the bar b que beans on my plate. Sweet mercy! Two ultra strength Phazyme later I have managed to pry myself out of the fetal position. I may learn my lesson one day.

Other than that, just dealing with low energy mostly from running errands here and there. I got bad news on my car accident. My attorney had to release me because they had no way to pursue the guy financially. He had no insurance an no real assets, so I am left holding the financial bag. Managed to keep from crying in the office. My car insurance paid to fix my car and it is nice to have it back. I have ligament damage in my neck now and that will cost a small fortune after medical insurance to get fixed. My insurance company is going to pursue this guy and try to at least get my deductible for me. It really could be worse so I am thankful I wasn't hurt worse and that my car is fixed. It is nice to be high up in my SUV perch once again.

Other than that, after griping to the hubs, he did haul the trash off today (we live in the country, so we have to drive our trash to the dump) and is letting me sleep in tomorrow by getting son 1 off to school and taking son 2 to the sitters. As much as I love those boys to the deepest part of my soul, it will be so nice to sleep in and have an empty house for a day!

Pipppy, Upandgoing, ladymm, Hang in there ladies. I hope your recovery ride will smooth out soon.

Roughneck, I'm not sure what I would say if one of my family members told me to suck it up at this point! I can tell my husband is dying for me to be back to normal and probably holds back a lot of what he wants to say, but he doesn't dare try to say I should be further along recovery wise. He had the nerve to tell me that I should be getting son1 ready every morning from school because I was off work right now! That did not go well for him!

As to the cravings, it looks like most that posted that still have ovaries which means we still have PMS and the cravings inherent to that. Also as our hormones sort themselves out, we may have all kinds of weird cravings and symptoms. Give in I say. I was so bummed after I left my atty's office today, I got some Ben and Jerry's called Chocolate Therapy. It really helped!
Badkitty,
That icecream sounds wonderful!!! I will have to see if I can get someone to pick me up some!
I'm so sorry to hear the news on your accident!! That sucks big time! I hope and pray they will be able to get you your deductible back and that your neck feels better.
It is cold and rainy here today so I'm looking forward to a day of chick flix and coffee!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and are feeling better!!! Hugs💐

Hey Lady MM,
When you mentioned about hating to take meds, it jogged my memory. The senokot used to be available in a powder form. The nurse suggested I add it to chocolate milk. It was a little gritty, but it went down better. They make a tablet too. That's what I take. It's quite small. I talked to my dr this morning. They don't want me back at work until I heal more. I spoke to my boss shortly thereafter. I am so relieved that I have another week to recuperate. I hope each day finds you better and better.

Great thanks for the info on the medication. I am glad to hear your doctor and work are allowing you to heal and take it easy. It is so important for us to really allow the times for our bodies to get back to normal without setting ourselves back by trying to do too much too soon. Thank you for your well wishes and I wish the same for you too. You are in my prayers and sending you healing hugs

Up and going and roughneck, the Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Therapy was divine! I'm still bummed when I think about the fact that the guy that hit me will probably get off scott free, but such is life I suppose.

The hubs did as promised and got the kids off for me today and I slept till 11! I feel sooo much better!! Since then, I've been lying in bed doing nothing. Plan on doing more of that. My Dr. said I can take baths so I may do that later. I like days like this!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 19-Mar 25,2012

Just caught up on some of the recent posts and wanted to share I to want to do more and have to tell myself over and over, " you are not done recovering, stop!!" I have been real lucky with a supportive husband and my 18 year old who has really stepped up with household chores. Who would of thought. I am counting the days till the 18th, it's when I get a epideral spinal injection for my sciatica that is worse now after surgery. I would of thought for sure the enlarged uterus and grapefruit size fibroid next to it it was the problem. Just a crazy coincidence that I have had to deal with both. What a year!
Roughneck, I feel for you, please keep coming back here for support and encouragement. Maybe search for other topics that have unsupportive and insensitive family members and remember we are here for you. I so believe in support groups as you can see by my username I've been using them for over 23 years now. There is something to comraderie (sp?).
We have a rainy day here in San Diego, so I am gonna grab that book and get under the covers for the rest of the day. Have a good weekend ladies!
