Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 19-Mar 25,2012

Becky, my dad is doing well. His surgery went very well and should be returning home today. Thank you EVERYONE for all your prayers and well wishes for him!!
Bad kitty, thank you for your thoughts and well wishes, as well as everyone else! I'm so sorry to hear about your explosive diarrhea incident yesterday..been there done that with my kids!!
Piper, I agree with Badkitty, it could very well be that your doing too much. I know I have a bad habit of doing that. When I'm feeling well, man I take off running and boy do I pay for it later!! I guess I'm so excited when I feel well that I want to do everything and anything!!llol
Well I'm feeling better except for that awful burning/tearing feeling on my left side, that hurts so badly but I'm just trying to push through..I can see that light at the end of the tunnel!! It's a little dim, but by golly..it's there!!
My 4 week post op is Thursday and I'm excited/ nervous!! I want to hear those magic words of YES!!! You can drive, take a bath and get on with your life!! Lol but I'm afraid that because of the way my incision is healing and that stupid annoying pain on my left side that she will say no
But either way, I will continue to push on and get to that point..maybe it's God's little way of saying slow down and enjoy the break!!
Take care everyone and I'm so excited for those of you that have turned that corner, and for those of us who haven't yet, we WILL get there too!

Erica, I am so glad to hear you dad is doing well and recovering

Badkitty, thanks. I am going to call my dr. My honey just looked at it and said it looks more pink than bruised to him. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks
on me (i wouldn't be suprised) but I know I am swollen in my upper pubic area I wonder if it because I had my cervix removed.

I keep saying it " you got to love being a woman" lol

Hi lily

I have noticed over the past few days I have more discharge than before but I have not had dizzy spells since the first 2 weeks post op. You should ask your dr just to be on the safe side. Keep us posted. I hope you start feeling better very soon

I'm curious to hear what ur doc says about dizzy spells because I'm 4 weeks post- op and every once in a while I still get dizzy. I am not seeing my doc for 2 more weeks.

Spoke to my doctor on the phone. He said that the pinkish color at my incision site is common he says sometimes the internal stiches may pop open and it will cause that to happen.

I also spoke with him about the swelling at the top of pubic area he says that sometimes the fluid from inside will drip down and cause swelling in that area.

And finally I asked him if it was normal to still have a lot of pressure when I pee. He said that it is common because the bladder has no where to lean on. He did tell me that I can drop by the office and leave a urine sample and he will send it out for testing just to be sure.

Ladies I will tell you I am glad I will never have to worry about getting my uterus and cervix removed again. This is by far the worst surgery I have ever had to recover from. I have had prior gyn minor surgeries and I even had a surgey done on my spine 5 years ago and this hysterectomy takes the cake for sure.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 19-Mar 25,2012

I just thought I would post on here that per my period app on my android phone, I should be on my period right now Never been happier to see that come and go!!!

I was curious as to whether I would have a mini cycle since I kept my cervix, but so far, nothing.

Lily and 199, I had some really bad dizzy spells last week or the week before. To the point where I was holding on to furniture while everything went black. I would have them more when I was overdoing it and not sleeping well. I also take ADD medication due to my ridiculously bad ADD and noticed that when I have taken it since the surgery, my dizzy spells are a little worse. So it may be a combination of the surgery and any meds you are taking, but let us know what the Dr. says Lily!
