Robotic assisted total hyster

It has been almost 2 weeks since my surgery. Before the surgery I had a history of very painful and heavy periods. This year I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and fibroids after having the worse pelvis pain ever. Yes, the pain was worse than contractions and kidney stones. I did not want to have my uterus removed even though my husband and I do not plan on have more children. I didn't want to have be cut period. I got a second opinion. I was convinced that I needed the surgery to be pain free. But I still have reservations about having the surgery. What convinced me that this was the right thing to do was my last period. It was the most painful that I have ever experienced. The pain had me crying for at last 15mins. Then I knew that I could not take it any more. The days leading up to my surgery were very stressful. However, I had a great support team that included family, friends, nurses from my insurance co and the healthcare providers at the hospital were I had surgery. The hospital staff was fabulous. I can't thank them enough for caring for me and easing my anxieties. Now I'm home resting; taking it one day at a time. I have to thank HysterSisters as well for creating a safe, confidential place for women like me to go and learn about my surgery. Thanks to all the women who care enough to share their stories so that other nervous, scared women no what to expect. I'm so grateful.
