hot flashes 3 weeks post op

Hello all I have been having a few hot flashes; I'm 3 weeks post op TAH but i kept my ovaries. Does this seem normal? It has only happened a few times. How long will this last?

This is totally normal. The ovaries often have their blood supply disrupted and it takes time for it to get reestablished. You do need to know though, that in about 4% of women, this doesn't happen. However, in the other 96%, it does. There is no telling when it will happen so you will need to be patient with your body as it heals. If the flashes truly become too much, let your doctor know and he or she might prescribe temporary HRT to help you get through it. Good luck!
