Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 26-Apr 01,2012

I have my 6 week follow up tomorrow! Excited! Been feeling great except for swelly belly every evening and some days...it's really annoying. But my energy has increased and I am super motivated to start exercising. I have no idea where this motivation has come from (maybe anemia is gone?)...but I want to harness it as soon as I get the all clear to do more than walking! I want to ZUMBA!!!!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 26-Apr 01,2012

Hi everyone I had my surgery on March 27, 2012. After I got home I thought I would die of the pain in my stomach. I had a partial hysterectomy, I spotted for seemed like forever but it was mostly my fault because when I left the hospital the doctor told me not to do ANYTHING when I go home. I did not do anything for the first week but when your husband and two daughers fuss about who will clean what or wash what I got up and helped out so I did not have to hear it. BIG MISTAKE LADIES!! If the doctor tells you not to do anything LISTEN PLEASE I bled alot for being hard headed. But I learned within the next few weeks. This week the date of May 8th 2012 will be six weeks for me and I feel wonderful, no bleeding six the beginning of my 5th week. I had my first love making with my husband and it feels better because I do not have to worry about the heavy bleeding anymore. This procedure helped me concentrate more on my family especially by husband, I know if I had gotten tired of my body before the surgery I suspect he had to but did not want to say anything. Ladies as long as you are doing the right thing when you come home from the surgery everything will fall into place so do not be concerned if you bleed more than you should just sit down and let someone else do what you are doing for you, it works and you will be happier in the end.

I know some of you want to get rid of that belly as easy as you got it but my advice is to wait at least two months after you have surgery. You can relaspe if you do not take it easy. But I feel you wanting to get your figure back.

Consmithml, my story is similar to yours. I recovered ok but I did a little too much and bled.. Now I am ok. Now I am so afraid to do any kind of exercise except walking. I am afraid of hurting something or afraid of bleeding again. I still do not know the cause. What kind of exercise are you going to do?

Since it has only been six weeks I will walk only. I have already lost 12lbs since my surgery and I would like to lose more but only in my stomach. That is why I will only do walks at the moment. After two months I will do some butt lifts because I lost some of that too and I want that back.

Exactly like that but its not continuous just sometimes, I haven't got the nerve up yet to look down there, maybe its just some swelling from being more active, don't really know
