Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 26-Apr 01,2012

Glad to know I'm not alone! I haven't had any blood work done since my surgery, so maybe I should start with that. Didn't think about thyroid problems, just wondering if my ovaries are actually working? Did anyone ...is there a way to KNOW if your ovaries are working? I just really thought after almost 4 months post-op, I'd be back to normal. Oh yeah...not having a period is AWESOME, but my hair is driving me crazy and my body temp is just completely abnormal. I live in the south...AKA HOT! and one minute I am freezing and the next....(most of the time) I am on fire. I kept my ovaries so I wouldn't have all these symptoms of menopause, but I feel like I'm still having a lot of them any ways. Did anyone have a complete blood workup after surgery to make sure everything was OK? I never did and I'm thinking that maybe I should.....

Much love to you ALL!

I have had my blood work and all is fine for now, with exception to my thyroid, but I knew about that. Will keep taking my Synthyroid.

Oh I hear ya..I am in the South as well, and between hot flashes (which always seem to happen in the morning) and outside temp, I cannot catch a break. I was having alot of headaches, but changed my diet, illiminating some sugars, that seem to do the trick.
take care ladies....

I had a complete blood work up in May and my hormone levels were fine. My hematocrit levels were the best that it has been in years. I am no longer anemic. No more heavy bleeding, therefore no more anemia and no more fibroids. Whoo hoo!!
I don't remember if I had my thyroid checked or not.
The reason that I asked my dr to check my hormone levels then was because I was in a constant state of arousal to the point that it hurt, but it wasn't my estrogen or progesterone because they were okay. I still have the feeling of constant arousal ALL THE TIME, but it is not as intense as it was.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes but I've been working on that. I was doing well with exercising and changing my eating habits and then I had my surgery and wasn't as mobile and probably ate more carbohydrates than I should have, but I've been working on changing those things since I was cleared for all activities. Hopefully when I get my blood work done next month, I will see a difference. Keep me in prayer on that. I need all of the help I can get

Hello Sisters!

Immediately after my hysto I had my hormone levels checked due to ridiculous temperature fluctuations. I was either freezing cold or sweating bullets. Hormones came out fine. Still working through the bladder nonsense and recovering from that surgery but I have a new issue. SURPRISE...it seems to always be something. At the risk of getting bumped I am going to put it out there anyway, the last two times my DH and I had sex...I started bleeding. What could I possibly have left that could bleed? No uterus...no cervix...no clue! Anybody?

LOL. I read piddling, but I didn't think peeing although that's what we call it too, I took it as outercourse by yourself, which I'm very familiar with. Lol

No language barrier. I've always said piddle instead of pee.

yes sorry Australian for peeing
Sneeze cough running to the loo all causes more than a satisfactory amount of piddle exciting.

Too scared for outercourse too.. havent even had a bit if a self exploratory to see what it all feels like. The anterior and posterior repair was pretty extensive, lots of sliced and tightened areas.
