Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 26-Apr 01,2012

Well, tomorrow is week 3 of recovery. My doctor told me everything was healing great at the two week appointment. He gave me permission to go back to work half days next week if I felt I could handle. He told me no heavy lifting, and to know my limits. If I get tired to certainly stop and rest. I have been feeling better physically in my recovery but still dealing with alot of emotional turmoil from other family situations that I posted about earlier. I have had no bleeding since surgery day just soreness in belly region. Not sleeping that great and doctor told me to still take pain medication at night to sleep. Said I need to be able to rest in order to heal. I am still bloated from surgery but when I step on scale I have lost 5 pounds. Have gone through clothes looking for loose fitting to resume work. I have only been in sweat pants and large tshirts since surgery. I am actually looking forward to returning to work, I am sure I will be tired after the first day. I am a preschool teacher and have missed my kids. Looking for to being among coworkers and children.

Thanks for sharing it.
Hahaha! My husband started the countdown already. I told him that we'll be following doctor's orders explicitly. I'm still bleeding/spotting from surgery 16 days ago, so I'm not even really thinking of anything until that stops. The discharge papers said nothing in or out for 6 weeks. I can promise you nothing in or out for 6 weeks. It took 6 years to get this surgery approved and done, so I'm not going to do anything to mess it up.

I thought Endo would affect more than 6 million. I do agree that there should be more education about it.

LOL.. you sounds like my man does. I'm the one trying to be bad and he is the one saying "down girl" lol.

6yrs waiting!?! Really! I was suppose to have it done a couple years ago but canceled the surgery twice as I wasn't mentally ready. Once I decided to go ahead with it I got to pick my surgery date which was great as my mom came and "babysat" me the first two weeks (she's a teacher and it was her spring break), lol.

Yep. 6 years of different doctors telling me different things. I always had really heavy periods, ever since the first one. When I went on BCP, it helped a little, but then I started getting them every two weeks. After I had my daughter 6 years ago, the periods got worse and worse. On top of that, I started to bleed during and after sex. My husband is in the Air Force, so we move every 3 years or so. The first round of docs told me it was nothing. The second round referred me to a civilian doc that tried everything BUT hysterectomy. I had cryotherapy on my cervix and it worked...for only 6 months. Then we moved again. The first doc I saw here told me, "Well, I can't see what the problem is. I think it's just the way your body is." I looked at him and said, "Really?? Would you accept that as an answer if I were your wife? Because it's pretty much a relationship killer." He got frustrated and finally gave me a referral to the Army hospital here. The first doc I saw said, "You know, you'd be an excellent candidate for a TVH. Have you thought about it?" I looked at him and said, "Yes, please!" It took two months from that appointment to surgery.

But, it's done and as long as I follow doctor's orders, then hopefully I won't have to go through this again.

Thank you! I've seen so many different OB/GYN docs that it's almost like who hasn't seen it yet? As one of my really good friends says, "They should hand out a punch card...10 visits and you get a bottle of wine!" Hahahaha!

I hope that your recovery goes well for you too!

mrsejv,

I love these books as well and Im pretty sure if I was a single lady I would search the world for Roarke... YUMMY!!!! I have read them all and check bn.com for new ones weekly on my nook! and I curse JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) for not pumping out a new book every week lol.

If you enjoy series books another good series that is a super easy read is Janet Evoniviche's Stephanie Plum series. They are about a woman attempting to become a bail bondsman and having a very hard time of it with a lot of funny things happening and fun and hilarious characters.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 26-Apr 01,2012

Well my update... I am 20 days post op and feel like I am losing my mind to be honest. My hormones have been just completely insane for the last few days.

Everything and I mean everything is making me cry... pictures, movies, tv comedy's, I was even watching some ridiculous show called Duck Dynasty and that made me cry.. how.. i don't know. My husband has been amazing but I have been taking everything way out of context and thinking he's mad at me when he isn't and he is getting a little frustrated, which I cant blame him for. Hes not yelling at me and he is keeping his cool great. But I fly off the handle, and then I have to turn around and apologize for being completely irrational, and then explain that I'm hormonally insane right now and I don't understand it and to please forgive me and don't judge me for the next ... idk how many months.

On top of that I have been having random pain shooting down my legs which is so much more uncomfortable then i thought it was. Also, getting more of the tugging/pulling sensation in my lower abdomen which is stressing me out a little. So my stress related eczema is acting up and itching like mad!!

LOL, also, with these ragging hormones my libido is 18 year old ***** again, and there is no possible way that I am breaking the 6-8 week rule from my doctor. But Im about ready to call the dr to see if its just nothing in the vagina or if its nothing that will cause orgasm (because that my friends would be amazing right now!! LOL) Hubby and i still are not back in the same bed, because (embarrassingly enough) there are times that we were both so aroused that we have started to fool around in bed while we were sleeping and were terrified of that scenario happening.

Ugh... overall I feel good body wise, but I feel like a mess/wreck mentally and hope this doesn't last too much longer.

Happy Healing Princesses, hope you are all feeling well!
