Apparently I have a really bad kidney infection and was given antibiotics. They said I most likely got a UTI from the catheter during and after surgery and it went untreated so it moved into my kidneys. He said the reason I didn't have a fever was because I've been on motrin around the clock and it masks the fever. I did have alternation chills, warm flashes and low grad fever for over a week , but I thought that was all hormonal ( ovaries in shock after surgery). All my other bladder problems sounded just like all the other post op sisters. My horrible back pains I blamed on too much sitting around in my recliner. Well, I know now, so I'm resting, taking my medicine, drinking lots of water and cranberry juice and waiting for my horrible back pain to go away. Thanks again for all the support.I feel like such an idiot. I had the brownish pee for over a week.
I'm really glad you went to the ER. The 2nd week post op I think I was suffering from a UTI. I went to the DR to have the staples removed and spent over an hour trying to give them a UA to no avail. When I still felt burning and the urgency to go the next day, I called and they gave me antibiotics which helped it. I can't imagine having it become a kidney infection (because those are incredibly painful) on top of the other post op pain. I'm so glad they did a good job of diagnosing it and you shouldn't feel like an idiot, how would you know? Years ago when I delivered my daughter, I passed a gall stone (had NO idea that was what the pain was because I was in hard labor and dilated to 8), it became an 'obstruction' and I suffered from it for 6 weeks until I went back for my follow up. To make a long story short, my urine was rust colored and I had to go straight to the ER for emergency surgery. I thought all of it was normal because I'd just had a baby. Continue to drink lots of water and cranberry juice and take it easy. Hopefully they gave you some pyridium or medication to help with the pain!

Oh my kids had a wonderful time today although they did not make too much. Everyone was too busy with thier soccer. Oh well FUN was the main focus, well for me anyway. They were a little dissapointed but give them credit for trying.

I still have this nagging pain in my left abdominal area (more like side) that I've struggled with on and off for the last week. I'm not sure if it's internal healing or if it's some of the endo that was missed during surgery. I've had a couple more hormonal meltdowns. I just can't stand them - I feel like I want to crawl out of my body because it is out of control!!! Of course, I'm frustrated because I've been off for almost 5 weeks and haven't really been physically able to do anything that I really need to do. My husband has been really good about trying to make sure I recover (he's disabled and in a wheelchair) and wants to get me up and going nearly every day. However, I think sometimes both he and my daughter forget I had surgery and expect me to be back to normal now. I sometimes have to remind them that I can't lift something or do something they are wanting me to do. Anyway, I hope everyone is on the mend!
I have pain on my lower left side too ...I am thinking it is muscle pain. I walked too far (two miles) two days ago and was really fatigued and in some pain for the last bit. Since then I have this left side pain, it's down low almost groin area. I didn't have endo so it's not that ...my surgery was April 4th so almost the same as you ...and I am not able to do much yet either ...partly drs. orders but also I am no where near back to normal ...active and healthy! It is getting better each day though (except for this left side pain thing) ...my dr. told me it would be all of eight weeks ...I'm thinking it will be at least all of that!

Makes me very sad.
I need to clarify this post. I don't want you to think DH is a non loving jerk. It isn't like that at all. He is good with the cuddling, kissing, back rubbing, playing with my hair, etc. The past few nights I have been trying to get him to go a bit further in bed. That's when the kissing stops and the fake stomach ache excuses come in to play.I'm too chicken to try out the orgasm alone, afraid it won't work, and I am feeling scared that I am less of a woman now. I have explained this to DH and he just insists he doesn't feel well.I am assuming he is making it up because he is afraid and waiting for us to be cleared for intercourse. It makes me sad and makes me feel I am not desirable to him. I know this isn't true, but with the post op emotions and all, I still feel sad about it.

Anyway - take care of yourself, go back to Doc and see whether they can give you further antibiotics. Be strong hum - you'll get there xxx
My gp has put me on triple strenghth anti biotics as the swabs that I had done in a &e last week showed that I had a "heavy bacterial infection" , it really worries me bout our 'darling' consultant, it took over a year for him to diagnose adenomyosis, and that's only coz I demanded a MRI scan ! I am worried that things aren't right in there resulting from surgery and he is going to be blazay about the post op hell I have had ! I am seeing him on 14th , he will probably just discharge me and send me on my way. He said it would only take two weeks to recover from this surgery !! Did he treat your uti or did your gp ? Did u see him just once after surgery ? X x

Thanks! This helped me a lot. I'm sorry you suffered for 6 weeks after the birth of your Daughter with the gall stone situation. Your story made me feel like less of an idiot. I guess when we are recovering from something we excuse symptoms that we normally would see for what they are. Again, you made me feel much better!! I'm drinking my cranberry juice ( which I hate) and took a motrin 800 and my Cipro, so am just looking forward to this going away so I can actually see if I feel better. I was thinking my recovery was taking so much longer than everyone else and wondering why I still felt so " sick" . I'm actually excited to see if in a few days I feel like a new woman, with no pain and more energy and appetite.

I remember those days with my kids ( all grown now,how flies). It seemed I spent a fortune on supplies and they would make almost no money at all. They liked it though, and I always thought it was a good business learning experience for them as well as a great way to bond with the neighbor children.
