Liz,
Thanks. I'm glad he's healthy again, too. I do miss him and I'm looking forward to hearing how his first day went. Yes, happy 1 month anniversary to you yesterday, too. When I look back, I'm glad that's over with.

I hope you'll see your hubby soon, too. Take care and keep posting and encouraging us.

Blessings,

Emotionally, I'm a wreck. I found out Saturday night that the state is taking my drivers license for 3 months because of a seizure I had in February. When I read the letter I just completely lost it. I cried and cried and couldn't stop. Now I've fallen into this funk and I'm so depressed I just don't feel like I can get out of it. Being at home all day with absolutely no way to escape the house, I feel like I'm in prison.
Kisler,
I'm sure it's not easy losing your license because of something you had no control over. But do you have people who can drive you where you need to go while you are without: neighbors or friends, or people from church? Maybe if you ask someone, they will be glad to help you. It's a good way to get to know someone better--reaching out to ask for help when you need it is nothing to be hesitant about. Think of people you know who may be retired and looking for something to do.

I hope this helps, at least a bit. Take care. I care about you.

Blessings,
Ruthie

Hi Ladies - welcome to your 5th week and hasn't time flown!!
Good luck to those of you returning to work this week - I hope it goes really, really well for you. I hope the infections clear for those who are still suffering and, again, I hope any post-op assessments this week bring you the news you all deserve and it's one step closer in the healing process.

Have a good week and my thoughts are with you all

Hugs

Kisler, Doc has me on Venaflaxine as well. It is in the Anit-depressant family but used often with PMS. I used pre-op and helped for awhile but my hormonal issues just got worse and worse along with the menstration. I was on a downward spiral fast this last year. So for me, I think with the ovary removal and I gather the HRT I am better. I know only too well how these hormones make us crazy. Ask the , try one/both if it helps continue. I know a few women who take the Venalfaxine 37.5 MG dose ( lowest one and least side effects) some cause weight gain this one does not) . 2 take no hyster. I takes with hyster and ovaries intact. The one with hyster and ovaries is very happy with her meds and will never stop and takes the edge off of her. Good luck to you. I tried a few other meds previous no luck. I hope that helps.

YIPPIDEE DO DA YIPPIDEE YAH!!!! I just walked my 6 K route with my Boston. Took me 1 hr 20 mins. I did it I did it... I'm so happy to have accomplished this. Also down 11 LBS

Now someone wrote wondering if my exercise was causing my continuall BM's before. GUESS WHAT. Finished the walk and BINGO I had a BM. Ok really I guess this is good news for me since Pre surgery I was mostly constipated and usually wait 3-7 days (mostly the later) for any movement. You could imagine my bloating issues along with the menstration issues. So maybe the extra room is proving beneficial and as the weeks go on I'll have regular BM daily.

Hope others have some good news to share as well.

I am worried that things aren't right in there resulting from surgery and he is going to be blazay about the post op hell I have had ! Did u see him just once after surgery ? X x
Hi Lara - I had my op on Monday and they got me out of bed on Tuesday but I fainted and they panicked a bit. On the Wednesday, I felt awful and could not move - I told him and the nurses to which they said I was only scared from the day before. By 4pm, I was in pain, had a temperature and it was burning when I went to the loo. They then did tests, out of which came the result of the UTI. I was put immediately on antibiotics for a week but when, the next morning, he came in to see me and I mentioned the UTI, his response was that I must have brought it in with me as I could not have got it in the hospital. On the Thurs, he said it was time to go home as there was nothing more they could do for me other than pain relief. I rang him just before Xmas as I was concerned about discharge and he told me to wait until after Xmas. I didn't call him again but then had silver nitrate treatment at my 6 weeks as I had not healed internally. I tried to get hold of him for 2 weeks as I was leaking but heavily and was concerned there was damage to the bowel. Again, he said leave it as it was very early and the bladder would take time to heal. From then on, I went to my own GP who was fare more sympathetic. Hubby says it's to do with the fact that the insurance pays for pre-op, the op and then the after op assessment. More than this he doesn't get paid. He has a fantastic bedside manner and makes you feel special, but he didn't live up to that in my experience.

Take care

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 02-Apr 08,2012

Lara,

Don't let the surgeon brush you off. My own surgeon saw me twice when I complained about my bowels. I love him but it wasn't till I went to ER and had extra tests done that my own infection was caught. Now yours is caught too but the meds are not working. Have they done Ultrasounds, cat scans to check the area to make sure there isn't something else going on? I had to wait in ER 7 hours first night a few the next but then my tests came back far quicker than they would have otherwise. I believe you went to ER already. Although family doc is now monitoring my infection. Can U see family doc before surgeon?? I truly hope you get to the bottom of this Lara. This is very hard on U and I'm sending you lots of hugs and support.

Hi sue and Kim
Ta for your replies x my family gp is now treating the infection. Am hoping it will get better soon, I have 3 days anti bio left. I am gutted about consultant, he was phoning me daily after he found out I had been admitted to NHS hospital and had to go to a&e 2 hours after speaking to him on phone telling him I was ill !! The last phonecall I had from him last week he turned round and said I probably didn't have an infection ( durrr the swabs showed a severe one ). Apparently its right about insurance pay outs, it only covers u for two weeks post op ! I did leave a message with his secratary telling him bout the mammoth anti bio etc, but not heard from him !!! It's made me lose faith in the after care at the Nuffield, which isn't good as I have to have more major surgery at some point soon there !! I will be investigating further about their after care policy !!!
Well done Kim on your walk, must feel soo good to exercise, I won't go near a set of scales at mo LOL !
Hope everyone else doing ok x x x

Well it has now been 5 weeks since my TVH with A&P repairs.I am doing well havent been urinating on myself when I cough or sneeze so I am very thankful. Still tire easily but have been able to increase my activity. I have been having some killer HOTFLASHES. Will be discussing this issue with my Dr 5/16 when I have my postop exam. I hope that all of you are doing well with your recovery. Nervously excited to be intimate with my husband again not quite sure what to expect. Also looking forward to a good soaking in the bath tub. Hope you all have a blessed day!!
