TAH Journey

love you sisters
i am eleven days post op now and reach for less hydromorphone every day.
in canada...this drug is seven times more powerful than morpheine, but i really feel as if i haven't taken anything....but then if i don't....the pain is there with a vengeance.
i spent one full week in hospital. pooped on day eight after ct scan showed a highway of trouble so to speak.
prunes and a ton of them are my best friend...with a side order of colace and senna s
my ovaries were lovely according to surgeon and were kept.
i have some amazing pics of my massive uterus and cervix. the visual has really helped me.
i am getting out of my big tall bed better aand the wedge pillow really does help for day laying. it really is how i tell the difference between day and night...wedge pillow on, wedge pillow off lol
i do spend most of my time in bed and in solitude.
very easily winded and sweating alot. temperature changes are strangely intense. random pains out of nowhere that are not gas or healing or pulling have just started on the left lower abdomen.
i had asked every woman i know to ask every woman they know and so on....for a piece of red fabric.....red to symbolize the blood....i turned this into a verrrrrrrrrrry ceremonial and special healing cloak and it is a beauty, an amazing source of comfort containing red items right down to girlie gitch lol. my point to ppl going in, would be to do something important with what is about to occur in your evolution, this is a sacred time and should be honoured in whatever way resonates with you.
the first two days out of surgery by far were the easiest....thankyou manual pain pump! i won\t lie....the first week sucks......but it really is do-able. just be gentle with yourself and for heaven sakes resist the urge to get bored and get up to much. a little walking is important for you,....alot can be done too easily.
hope this helps someone

This is how I survived my journey into my TAH

I am three weeks post op TAH and tubal removal
I struggled badly with going into surgery and thought i would share with you the tasks that made this decision barable for me.
Perhaps you will be inspired to do something that helps you through your journey as well.

May I share with you what I have done?
This is deeply personal and feel to share it with you dear sisters...also, maybe someone can copy and paste it to another thread where it may be helpful to someone considering surgery...as i am pretty lame with maneuvering my way thru this site lol

Having been diagnosed with cervical cancer five yrs ago .... i refused to give up my uterus. (long story short....) I was able to have a couple big cone biopsies and chose instead to cure my cancer with herbs....
Fast forward .....Fibroid the size of 7 month pregnancy no longer made keeping uterus a viable option any longer despite my long battle with keeping it.
I am pagan, and my womb and mooncycle was always a very important part of my being...so this decision really messed with me spiritually.
Here is the good part........
One day I had a vision so strong i could not ignore it. I was wrapped in red fabric symbolizing the blood mysteries from sisters far and wide.
I put out a msg on Facebook to my friends and for them to pass along as far and wide as they could, to please send me a piece of red fabric so that i could create a shawl to wrap myself in the symbolization of my sisters love.
I never expected the hugeeeeeee response i received.
From a scarf blessed by Shamans in a mayan village of mexico to my herbal mentor in italy to childhood friends i have not seen in thirty years....the fabric came! From socks to panties and formal velvet to tshirts i received so many offerings from everywhere!
I did create my shawl with the help of a dear friend who can actually sew .olololol.....and i wrap myself in it everyday of my healing to remind myself of our sisterhood.
My surgeon took photos for me to have.
These along with the love and support i have received here, have been my best healing tools.
It is with love and gratitude that i am sharing this with you now.
I love and Thank each and every one of YOU!
Much Love........always.
