TVH procedure recovery

I had and endometrial ablation 4 years ago for heavy bleeding. It cures me just fine! I now had 40% uterine prolapse and a very leaky bladder. I am 48 and have already started menopause. I had my TVH with both ovaries removed, my anterior and posterior walls repaired and a TVT (bladder sling) 21 days ago. My procedure went well although it took a little bit longer because my uterus was so "long". It took 4 hours. I don't remember one thing!

My day and a half visit at the palace was awesome! The first week at home was not so bad. Off of pain pills by day #4. Just ibuprofen when needed.

My issue is - I feel so fantastic, it is hard to stay stagnant. I am walking, doing dishes and cooking small meals. i have tons of energy - way more than I had pre-op!!

I am on a very light HRT (estrogen) and I was told that I will wean off of that in 6-8 months. I have not gotten depressed or weepy - yet. As a matter of fact, my moods have been uplifted quite a bit. I don't miss my organs - they obviously made me ill and caused me discomfort...I am glad they are gone. I have 2 happy, healthy children and never did want anymore. I do not feel any less of a woman - I have never been happier!

I am having a tough time falling asleep at night. I think it is due to my inactivity and my high energy level. I am not kidding - I have not felt this good in years! Once in awhile I have to take one Tylenol PM to help me fall asleep.

I had some strange things going on during the first two weeks of recovery and glad that it's over with.

At first, I didn't want to post on here, as most posts are very dismal and depressing. Maybe my post will help others look on the bright side of things!

Hang in there sisters!
