Celebrating the start of my LAST period

As much as I'd LOVE to burn the leftovers from this week, from what I've read, I may still need the pads post op for a little while. How long? Not sure, seems that some say a few days, some bleed at 3 weeks, some 10 weeks. But once I'm all healed, I'm going to stick them all over my car and drive around honking the horn hehehehe. Probably not but funny thought.

ME TOO!!

I also realized that 2 weeks ago would be MY last period, ever!!

My 12 yr. old son reminded me of how much money I would be saving on tampons...out of the mouth of babes.

TAH 1/17/02, fibroid, UDO (Unidentified Disgusting Object)
in uterus, looking forward to feeling MUCH better

Celebrating the start of my LAST period

I had a tah/bso about five weeks ago. The surgery was unexpected. I had been getting extremely heavy periods at least twice a month that lasted many, many days. Whenever, I went to the store I would stock up on tampons. When she was looking for something a friend found over 15 boxes of tampons. I also had quite a stockpile of nuprin because I had to take so many for cramps. I read a post earlier today about being able to get rid of old underwear that a lot of us wear when we get our period. I think when I feel good enough I'm going to start a bonfire with all the underwear, old pjs, and sheets that I saved for use during my periods. By time I throw in all those tampons I should have quite a good one going!! I have been sort of depressed about the hysterectomy and reading these posts cheer me up!!

Celebrating the start of my LAST period

Hello LisaJean/All: I too am celebrating/amazed that I am in the middle of my last period. My supracervical AH is scheduled for January 31, 2002 and I am getting pretty anxious and impatient. It's taken me a long time to get to this point. I had a myomectomy in 1994, but the fibroids returned with a vengence.

This site has been so wonderful. The stories (good and bad) shared by the brave and caring women who moderate and post here have supported me tremendously. I just want to send a big "thank you" to everyone in this community. Love, good healtha and well wishes to all pre-op and post-op hystersisters!!

Looking forward to posting my own "sore, but feeling great and healing" message after 01/31/02, Alabelle

Last Period

LOL. I said to my husband just the other day "I have only 2 more of these!!". Well, the 2nd last started last Wednesday, so just one more in February. My sx is scheduled for Feb. 25th. I've decided to make Christmas ornaments out of my leftover tampons, or maybe I'll mail to my "period"-ic friends! These awful cramps and periods are one thing I will not miss, that's for sure. Best of luck with your recovery.
