Still on pain killers - doc said it could take a long time due to the complications. Still swollen - I imagine it is the same answer here.

Miffed about the extra 4 pounds and REALLY want those to go away so I can feel back to normal again.

I hope everyone is doing well.
Miss Elaineous, I can imagine it is frustrating that recovery is taking longer due to your complications but you have such a great attitude. You are quite an inspiration to me.

Ladies, as you can see you have now moved to the Date Clubs forum. You can still post and still get notifications when someone posts. Please feel free to continue to support each other here and out on the post op forum. I was just chatting yesterday with a couple of ladies from my date club. It was such a joy to catch up!

I will stop pop in on here and there but if you need anything please feel free to PM me or Totalhysta.

Blessings on your continued journey of healing and getting back to normal activities.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 23-Apr 29,2012

Hi all, for some reason a few weeks ago I no longer got notifications when others posted on the thread, so I think nothing's going on and it has been!

Elaineous, Pinkbud, Tine: this is our special healing time, we're only going through it once and it's important to be patient although it's sure weird to be in the caboose, right? I'm so proud of all of you for your positive and honest attitude through thick and thin and so thankful for your continued company.

Other ladies who come back to check in -- it is so great to see your names again and hear what's up!

Last week for the first time since surgery I felt more like my capable self -- mentally. So thankful the doctor held me back, the time investment (and lower income) in healing has been totally worth it. I'm still really tired, plan on investing a lot of time sleeping for this last week of rest ahead.

But so much still to heal. My acupuncturist attempted a very light massage on my abdomen after the needles came out. It felt delicious while her hands were on my skin but after the old discomfort came back and that evening I took my first 1/2 Percocet in a month -- it wasn't enough but I just slept through it. She barely put pressure on me too. I now have no doubt that amount of healing still going on and am giving my body a lot of respect. True for all of us I'm sure, even feeling better lots of healing going on!

Love to all of you! Have a great week!

I have done some of my home exercises today from my therapist. Too hot outside to do anything. My grown kids don't quite understand that I am not quite ready for their drama issues. I tell them I am getting too old for that. I still tire easy mentally and physically.
One of my dad's friends is going to have a total hysterectomy this coming wednesday. I will be sure to tell her about the hystersisters site and the good support she can get.

Thanks! I have found that maintaining a positive attitude helps with healing.

I'm still on percoset - BUT, I'm better this week than last. I even went grocery shopping by myself and made some freezer meals today. Feels great to get these chores done again.

We are leaving for vacation on Sunday - looking forward to long relaxing days with books and crochet hooks. Great time to relax and continue to heal.

It has been a pleasure meeting you all and I wish you all the very best.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 23-Apr 29,2012

Hi to all you ladies!!
Glad to see we are still posting-glad to see you back PacificNW!
I pushed a full size grocery cart this week, pushed a vacuum around (just a little and did feel some pulling), and just had things " picked up" which felt great. Still taking stool softeners and having the deadly night sweats-wake up 6 to 10 times a night but not working for the summer so, I am fortunate
that I can sleep in for now.
Intimacy with my husband is getting better physically- my body is swinging back! Moving in the right direction!!
My teenage daughters even commented today that they thought I was back "100%" and we're shocked when I said " not quite!"
Stay cool if you are having the heat like we are here on the east coast. It is hard to get the walking going when it's so hot.
Keep turtle- ing ladies!

My daughter told me the same thing today - "you're almost normal again mom!! Felt good to hear.

Still on about 2 half tablets a day of percoset for pain a day - but the other day I made it ALL DAY until 6pm until I had to take a pill. I was so encouraged.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 23-Apr 29,2012

Went for my back to work interview this week and was told couldnt come back as not enough for me to do as I cant do my normal Job (work with 4-7 year olds) admit I was upset at first and mentally ready to resume. My doctor was not happy with this but I decided to go with the head teacher as to be honest have other things I can be doing like getting ready for my daughters wedding next week.... and still getting full pay, will only be back for a week then its the summer holidays..so who am I to argue

Littlefish, does this mean you don't have a job next school year?
