TAH scheduled for May 16th

Hi everyone:

I am a 41 year old with multiple fibroids. I can't wait for my surgery. I have read some of the threads and it's nice to hear women just like me. My symptoms have been heavy bleeding, bowel and bladder issues, abdominal pain. I feel 4 months pregnant. I had a tubal when I was 24. I went seeking an ablation and discovered the fibroids. I have also gained about 12 lbs in the past year, after having a stable weight the past 20 years. I am hoping it is going to solve a lot of my issues. I look forward to participating in this site. I am glad you have found this site. I have found much healing and support here, as well as loads of information. There are a wide variety of women on this site, and the reasons they had a hysterectomy. I have read other posts for women in your position that have had their issues resolved with their hysterectomy.

You might want to explore around this site. A good place to start might be in the pre-op section.

Hi Lilolu I had my surgery on May 16, 2012 as well. I also had fibaroids among other things. I am still learning my way around the site. Welcome and hope to see you on the message boards. Good luck

Welcome to the other side! I am glad your surgery went well.
