Re: My .1mg Vivelle Dot has stopped working

I haven't visited this site in over a year but thought I would see if I could find someone with the same issue that I am having and I found this thread! I am extremely tired, moody, high anxiety, dry skin. The glue on a few patches left a square irratated ring on my skin. I have changed my diet and am taking B12 Complex vitamins and was hoping it was "just the weather " changing but I haven't seen any positive changes. I don't have depression but I don't feel like doing a thing. I don't have any energy and that is so unlike me to feel like this. I haven't checked what batch my V dots are but it seems like it won't matter that all could be a defect. I am wondering if I should suffer through this or contact my doctor? When I first had similar symptoms I switche from the pill to a patch because I wasn't getting enough estrogen and it was giving me some of the same symptoms I have now. My levels were tested 6 weeks after I started the patch and they were normal. (This was July of last year) Thyroid is working fine too. I had that tested 2 months ago when I started feeling different by my PCP. Perhaps I could use some type of cream? I'm just afraid my doctor won't listen. They last told me that any angry feelings could be a mood disorder not estrogen and I totally disagree with that. This is frustrating!

Re: My .1mg Vivelle Dot has stopped working

All my patches have been in the 50000 series and I have had nothing but issues. Im the girl who got chronic insomnia, anxeity, heart papl shakes. Was the er 5 times with every test you could think of. In feb I took a leave of absence do to not sleeping. I finally broke down and went on klonipin. Celexa. Then I added gel so did tbe gel fix the prob or the mix I still have the patch on with all the post I have read the mojority seem to be patch related. I just had my nubers tested and e was 120. Before I started gel it was only at 40. So if it is the patch how do we complain and fix it. I have a fiend who started complaining about hot flashes when she never had them for the past 3 years on patch. So it makes you wonder.

My patches are in the 50000. I do have the same lot # as red 1964 does. Mine is .01. I don't know if I should try it or not.

Re: My .1mg Vivelle Dot has stopped working

I've been meaning to post again for a couple of days....finally getting around to it.

Checked around and nothing beyond the 59000s at local pharmacies. My regular pharmacy still had some of the 58735 batch...no thank you....got a 59079 batch and will see how that works.

My skin is getting drier again...something that had not been the case for years...and almost no water retention in my legs (I always seem to have a little on the Vivelle, nothing that causes a lot of discomfort or is visible to others but I do feel it) -- so I KNOW my E2 has to be lower.

When I talked to the pharmacist about this issue with the patches and told him of my conversation with Novartis, he, too, laughed when they said they wanted 10 patches. He said they should have their own supply -- which Novartis did say they had. When I told him about the "manufacturer" and being surprised that it wasn't Novartis, he shook his head and said that this was not uncommon.

I've wondered why users of other dosages haven't experienced problems....maybe they made changes to the .1mg dosage first or maybe those of us on the higher dosage just notice smaller variations earlier since we need more? Who knows, just thinking out loud. If this is a true manufacturing change or problem, I would think that sooner or later, many more of us will be wondering what is going on.

I, too, hope that they get it fixed because I have loved this patch....stick it and forget it. Don't want to have to go to a daily product but I will if I have to...I'm not going to suffer for 6 months while they get it together....and I hope they admit if there was a change that they made or a problem because they need to do that in order to regain trust in the product in my opinion. It could be that they were unaware of a change made by their manufacturer, hard to say.

Anyone having problems with the Vivelle, PLEASE call Novartis and be heard!!

My .1mg Vivelle Dot has stopped working update: back on the patch

I have my annual coming up, I want to switch from the patch to something else. Just don't know exactly what. One of the sisters suggested estrace( use it between cheek and gum) I use 2 patches, so I want something a little cheaper. How much is the gel? I have my Dr appt on the 21st & I still don't know what to ask for
