Question is anyone having nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite. Of course I still have not had a BMW and I have gas.
I've been experiencing nausea and lack of appetite. I've been off the Percocet for two days now and it's still there. Apparently it's totally normal. I know it worried me a lot when I started feeling sick and having cold flashes.

Came home yesterday after TAH on Wed May 2. Feeling remarkably good. Gas pains were horrific but are getting much better. Incision site feels fine. Starting to itch a little. Can't sleep more than an hour at a stretch because I have to constantly. Appetite starting to come back.

Started Estradiol last night. Had an awful headache for about 12 hours. Hoping there is not a repeat tonight.

Best wishes to my Sisters for a speedy recovery. Take it easy!

Had surgery on Thursday afternoon. Had lap procedure, they took uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes. My ovaries looked healthy so they left them. I had adenomyosis and my uterus was about a 12 week pregnancy size. They had no complications and were able to take out the uterus vaginally but disconnected everything laproscopically. I am in very little pain, the binder is doing a great job keeping me all in place. I went home Friday afternoon and took a shower. I am resting in my recliner and sleeping in it getting up every hour or so to move, I really want to have a BM. Husband and children are taking care of the house and the cooking and me. I have had a few abdominal surgeries and so far this one is a breeze. If my recovery goes as nicely I will never look back. I am passing lots of gas now, I am hoping that is a good sign that things are moving. I am down to one tylenol 3 every 5-6 hours.

My surgery was on Tuesday. I had da vinci assisted hysterectomy, bladder sling and rectocele repair. I have had lots of gas but I think I'm through the worst. My vaginal incision for my rectocele repair still hurts and my abdominal top incisions. I'm out of the Percocet. I don't feel like they supplied me with enough for how many procedures I had done. I guess I'll suffer through the weekend. Am I the only one still in pain?

I had my TAH on Monday April 30th, after a screw up at the hospital ( they called sunday and said surgery had been moved up to 730am needed to check in at 530am) Surgery finally happened around 1215.
I had a hard time waking up from anesthesia but the doctor and my faily said everything went wonderfully, and that I got to keep my ovaries!!
I stayed in the hospital until Wednesday morning and then was let out!!!
I quit taking the narcotic pain meds as soon as I could and am just taking ibuprofen now, the gas pains and the first bowel movement have been the worst. But I am drinking and walking! After a few days at my grandmas I am now home with my hubby.

I had a daVinci Thursday AM, May 3rd, at 7:30AM. I don't remember much before about 8:15PM, but at that point, I got up, took a walk, went to the bathroom and had something to eat. They kept me in surgical intensive care Thursday night, ostensibly because of my sleep apnea, but let me leave on Friday at 1PM. I have 7 small incisions, closed with dissolvable stitches and surgical glue that will resolve on their own. Not much pain - feels more like I've just done way, way too many situps. And the painkillers are making me tired. But overall, not in bad shape at all. My biggest problem is keeping my cats off of my stomach, which is their favorite place to sleep! That, my allergies are making me cough, which kind of hurts. But otherwise, doing really well - way better than expected, based on my sister's and mother's traditional abdominal hysterectomies. DaVinci is amazing!!

The big relief is that the preliminary path results show Stage 1, Grade 1 only, so no cancer outside of the uterus.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 30-May 06,2012

Had my TLH done April 30th. I have had reproductive problems my entire life. Last Monday I went in hoping to have TLH but knowing they may have to change to an abdominal incision. My doctor said it should be about a 2.5 hour procedure. It ended up taking 5 hours and 7 blades but my doctor was able to do the TLH.

They removed a calcified fibroid that weighed about 2.5 lbs., my completely distorted uterious, tubes.,ovaries, cervix (had hoped to keep)., and additional fibriods. I also lost a lot of blood and had to have two units before surgery was complete. Doctor told family it was the hardest, most complex TLH she had done.

I stayed in the hospital one night..had to be given a shot for nausea but it knocked me and the nausea out quickly. I have been home since about 5:00 May 1st.

I haven't had much pain but feel like I have been beaten up. Thanks to everyones updates and this site I have been encouraged and have had many of my questions answered. Good luck and I pray all of you have quick recoveries.
