Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 30-May 06,2012
Speaking of staying in, I've been doing so well, but my doc said no day trips until I'm two weeks out (next Tuesday). My aunt passed away Wednesday night and the funeral was today. I had to miss it, and I feel terrible about it. I also woke up with hives covering my face, scalp, ears, and a few on my arms and legs today. What the...?

At this time you all will feel some pain in different places. You will feel tired and at times you will feel really energized. As different areas of your body heals and as your insides shift to compensate for the new space they now have, the will come. The wonderful thing is, it will subside. You need to rest, and be as gentle as possible with your bodies. Remember, slow and easy is the best thing for you at this time.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOM'S

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 30-May 06,2012
Had LAVH BSO on May 4th I felt great. It was one of the best surgeries I have ever had recovery wise. Gallbladder and appendix out. Until I fell 7 days after surgery. No bleeding but tons of pain on whole right side and right back by kidney. Called dr come in on Monday I don't know if I can wait I can't breath or move with out pain and pressure. Help should I go to ER or wait until Monday. Before fall I was not on pain meds and up and about like if I had not had surgery. Now I am on the couch can't sit up for more than 5 min. Laying here in pain. Help I am scared that I did something inside and don't know. I have bruising, swelling and lots of pain. It was all going away before.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 30-May 06,2012
Will someone please tell me my acronym? I had a laproscopic procedure that removed my uterus (removed out through the vagina) they also took out my cervix and fallopian tubes. I still have my ovaries.
I have had apendex and gallbladder removal, open gastric bypass and a tummy tuck. This is easy peasy compared to the last two. I am 8 days out from surgery. I took off the binder this morning after my shower. I dressed in a tank top and cotton skirt (omg from old navy its so soft and comfy) I am swollen around the tummy still but I got dressed, made the bed, did a small sink of dishes and picked up my area in the living room. I was able to sleep in my bed all night last night so I moved all my stuff to my bedside. I rested on the bed and read a book for an hour then I went to dinner. I am now enjoying a glass of wine in my jammies. I will put in the binder to sleep because it helps hold it all in while I lay on my side. I have to sleep on my side. But I feel good. I took some pain meds this afternoon but that was over 6 hours ago and I am good. I also went and had a cup of coffee this morning in my yard with the chickens and fed them old bread and watered the planter. It sounds like a lot but it didn't feel like it. I am usually really really busy and I am so over being in my house.

Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 30-May 06,2012
Good morning and HAPPY MOTHERSDAY!!!!!!
I have noticed that my discharge is more in the morning and am beginning to wonder if I'm sleeping wrong? So this question goes out to my fellow TVH sisters.....how do you sleep? Still on your back? I sleep on my sides(almost on my tummy) with a pillow supporting my leg and tummy.
Now another thing....who uses a belly binder and does it help, is it advisable?
Thank you all and have a GREAT day!

It sounds to me like it could have been a total laparoscopic hyst. (TLH). That's what I had, but I am down an ovary. It could have been a laparoscopically assisted vaginal hyst. (LAVH), also. Hope that helps!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Apr 30-May 06,2012
I haven't posted in a while because I have been really concentrating on getting my bowels in order. Turned out that I was actually impacted AND had diarrhea. Go figure. The colace was just making my life a living hell......crampy, gassy, awful. I finally resolved it all with an enema (go for it...it works wonders) and switching to Citrucel, probiotics, and changed my diet considerably.
Now I'm feeling pretty good. Just taking Ibuprofen because the percoset made me vomit. Watching what I'm eating, enjoying the sunshine in my special lounge chair and taking it easy.
The last 3 days something new has started. Anyone else having this? I've been having searing pain in my butt muscles after walking. It feels like sciatic nerve pain, but I have to say that my back no longer hurts at all (I had a fibroid pinching a nerve before surgery and now am free of that pain). I will likely post this issue to a wider audience, just wondered if anyone else was experiencing this.
Rest well friends.
