AND get a copy of your lab results and have them explained......I have a friend who just got diagnosed with hyperthyroid/Graves disease.....The doctor who found it looked at her past lab records, and apparently the previous doctor did not notice that she had thyroid problems evident in her bloodwork from 2 years ago!!!

Ace, . Although I can't be there I want to send you a belated birthday wish. I'm so sorry your Mom did not celebrate it for you, or at least give you the card you deserve. (specially with all that you do to help her). I hope you still found a way to treat yourself, but if not please do it from me. I took the Birthday Celebration Quiz. Wow it is amazing that Hystersisters has been around for 14 years, helping us get through this journey! I'm glad the kittty treatment wasn't as bad as expected. I guess that is why they came to you, because you would definitely "nurse" them back to health, and as a reward, you get t enjoy them too. Sorry to hear about your issues. I would definitely have your thyroid checked. My tests turned out ok, so I think my issues may be hormone related, (I have been craving oranges, which I also craved during my first pregnancy) and the timing is about right. My routine is still not stable yet, but I am doing a lot more. I'm up early with pups, have my tea and breakfast, work/attend my online classes, while pups rest, run errands if needed, cook/do chores early (while I have energy), exercise in the evenings as
often as possible), then relax, rewatch my class videos, crochet, watch TV, and CRASH!! Sometimes early. WOW, when I write it all down, it seems like a lot. No wonder I get tired. My bday is 12/21. I have not had the pet photog. event before, but hope it will do well, I'm still in the planning stages. Typically the first year for this type of event is slow, but each year it grows. We shall see what happens!

I am doing better today, getting ready for my online class at 9:00 today.

Hoping everyone is doing well.

Have a great day!

Hi !
Riderrunner- so much for your reply & the info! I was thinking possible hyper- thyroid too, unfortunately I am not having the (ok w me) problem of weight loss. I did get an appt scheduled- & it must be a sign that I needed to bc I got one for monday afternoon . Your poor friend. That would've made me so mad that things were missed. When I was working, back before I had my dd, I usually looked & printed my own labs at work. Yes, its a definate "no-no", but we all did it "back then". Since Im not really familiar with this I will definately ask for an actual copy of my results- thank you for suggesting that.

Apilo- for the bday wishes! to you! It means a lot! I think at this point it's safe to say that my mom has now forgotten abt it-again. If I were EVER to not got nuts for her bday she would be So Mad at me & never let me forger it. Yes, on my bday I treated myself to a Dunkin Donuts coffee & I caught a movie. DD was at camp that day, so it was just me . It sure does sound like you're busy to me. How are you liking your on-line class? I've done quite a few online classes & actually really enjoyed them. Im definately not as computer savy as one likely needs to be to do it today though. You crochet? How awesome! I tried to learn how from a book, didnt work out so well. I only really want to learn how to do a simple short length chain stitch. A friend of mine had given me THE GREATEST baby socks when I had my dd. She used plain white socks, put a short chain stitch on from the end of it to attach "tri-beads" around the opening. I got so many compliments on them! I would love to make some for a craft fair, & even for dd now .
I DO really need to set a routine up for myself & one for days when its kiddo & I. Re: being hot- last night I slept with my head at the "foot end" of my bed (no headboard or footboard) so the cool from the a/c in a nearby window just couldnt miss me! I had to change my bed anyway bc 1 kitten (who actually reallt likes me) pee'd on my sheets a tiny bit before I figured out what he was "up to". DD thought I had lost my mind when she saw me at the "wrong end" this am, lol. Will definately be doing the same thing for many more nights as it is horribly humid & yucky out here. Apilo- regarding your symptoms- is it something you are going to get hormone levels checked out about?
Today we picked up formula for weaning kittens while we were out, and, yes- DD talked me into the bottle to go with it- . Kittens aren't too impressed with the "milk" yet (tried twice since we got home), but Mama cat LOVES it. Maybe it will give her a few extra calories that she so despirately needs.
I think I will head off to try to get to sleep. Pain tonight is very different- not really in a good way. It feels like the outside of the top of the vaginal cuff is hurting. I never thought people could feel some of these things, but I know now that its completely possible. I even shock my gyn with how "good I am" abt being able to identify pain location. Im hoping this isnt connected to how yucky I feel in all the other ways.
I DO have to say that I am still soooo happy I had the hyster! I know I would be feeling LOTS WORSE if I hadnt.

Have a great weekend ladies! Any special plans, anyone?

Prayers for you, Jackabee! Just now catching up on posts. Haven't been on in awhile. Sorry for all that you are going through. May you find peace and comfort!

It's great to hear that most of you all are back to your busy lives. I had a marathon shopping trip to Pigeon Forge last week and my back didn't hurt. I haven't had back pain since my fibroid-filled uterus was removed. It's great!

I've been tired all week, but I can't blame it on anything other than watching the olympics until midnight or later every night.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

tsdunn- on no back pain!!!! How was your shopping trip? Sounds like it would be a great place to shop & vacation too I too have been watching the Olympics- mostly I enjoy the gymnastics, but also watched much of the swimming this year- great "eye candy" with the men's team & of course amazing skill in both women's & men's events. I saw that there was "trampoline finals" today. When did the trampoline enter the Olympics as a sport? I ended up getting caught up in a 20/20 episode so never did see the event- but am very curious about it.

Haha. Family was watching Olympic trampoline, and I said, "Hey! It's kinda like me on the trampoline!" And my 10 yr old said, "No mom. It is not like you on the trampoline."

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

Almost 3 months post-op (May 9th)...went back to work July 5th....anyway, I'm depressed. If I'm not bored or numb then I'm angry or crying.

Should I see my GP or my OBGYN?

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

riderrunner! Kids can be sooooo "cruel" . Thanks again on your story abt thyroid stuff. Appt 2moro. Told my mom I scheduled the appt w a GP & she 1) gave me grief abt it not being my gyn, & 2) she jumped right to a comment abt diabetes bc I am overweight. Ah , I gotta love her or I'd choke her.

siren2012! Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. Good for you for looking into it. I am actually going to see a gp 2moro bc of several issues including depression & lack of energy. Some GYNs will see people for those things- even if not post-op hyster. Maybe call & speak with your 's nurse & see if you should go there or to your gp. I WOULD rather see my gyn as I don't have an established "relationship" with a gp here as I do with my gyn. But, I need to get established with someone to oversee things and I know if I called to see my gyn 1 nasty nurse would tell me I shouldn't have called them. (Although I know the WOULD help me look into things- I just know he's too busy. I'm just in a panic of if the gp wants to look at the gyn's "sewing work" inside- I dont want to do that part with someone "new").
to you. Please come back & let us know how you are doing. Did you keep 1 or both ovaries? Be sure to be able to explain how you are feeling- physically & mentally, how long it goes on (constant or intermittent), & how long you've been feeling like you are.
Again, be sure to let us know how you're doing. We are always here to listen as well.

Siren- I just looked back on older posts you made. It sounded like you have a great, supportive - I'm assuming it was your GYN. I'd say call him 1st & take it from there.
I hope you have a restful night.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

Hello Ladies.... It has been awhile since I last posted and I am here for answers My surgery was May 9th, I recovered quite fast, and I have had no problems what so ever...but....Today I became overwhelmed with the "blues". I feel like I'm going crazy. I called my husband at work crying and telling him that I had no idea why I was feeling like this. I feel like my world is crumbling around me. I first thought it was because my husband (who is a firefighter) has been working a lot and with the kids starting school maybe it was that...But...that has never been an issue before. Then I thought, maybe this would of normally been my cycle week, but I don't think so. I only had my uterus and tubes removed and no hormones needed.... Is anyone else going through this and is it normal???? Also, why now??? Help
