Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
it is quiet in here.
I am doing well, have been outside a lot painting the barn.
I am having self image issues with my swelling belly and no waist. Tried shopping with my daughter on Thursday and got very discouraged. FOUND NOTHING that made me feel good or pretty. Very upsetting. Hate feeling 'square'.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Hi ladies. Same stuff different day. Kids have been back in school for 2 weeks now and that has entailed an extra amount of time for homework. Master club (church) starts up in 2 weeks do that will be added to the mix. I just finished my CDA up and am taking a management class starting on 9/24. I'm working toward a promotion that I have wanted since I started working at my current job 4.5 years ago. Still working out when I can and am making small strides.
Good to hear about the happenings. Take time to rest and relax!!!!!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Aplio- so glad to hear you're keeping upon your classes- that is AWESOME!!! I cant even begin to imagine how busy you are. Do try to take some time to slow down & smell the roses.
Made the mistake of telling a friend (1 of my very best friends actually) about how I am feeling tonight via txt (after she asked). I got the equivalent of the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" lecture, but via return txt. She went on to basically say- this has gone on way to long, eventually I need to suck it up & "be productive". Thanks, that was helpful- NOT! I agree Apilo- a lot of this is exhaustion from the week+ that Ive had. The week was considered a "vacation" by mom & probably that friend too- but it almost felt like work. She is an amazingly strong woman, but much of what my life has in it she just cant even imagine. I feel badly saying that because she has had lots go on too, but I feel like she thinks I have access to some switch to "fix this"- I REALLY wish I did!
Well, going to go try to get some sleep, Im sure the world will be a much brighter place if I can. Monday I will be picking up my lab results- I called fri to ask to have them ready for monday. The woman on the phone didnt even seem to flinch when I said I hadn't heard from anyone & labs were over a week ago! I will also be calling the counselor I got the number of from dd's doctor's office. It was originally for him to help with behavior issues, but I obviously need some "fixing" too. Will prob still call gyn's office if labs are all normal to see if he'll order hormone tests. I just feel like something isnt right- this isnt "just" depression or the blues as I have had before.
I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend! "Talk" with you soon!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Good Morning Girls,
Hope everyone had a restful sleep. I am feeling somewhat tired this a.m. My energy has been better, but I still tire out easilly. It is so good to know we are not the only ones with bellly issues. I have been amazingly better, but I am still having some off days. It always seems to be when I have been careless about my tea. I had a very tense/technical class on Thurs. (the instructor made up for with a very fun class on Fri.), which demanded a lot of attention, so I opted for a little coffee (mostly non-fat milk with a splash of coffee), but my body did not seem to like it. I think the unbearable heat hasn't helped either. The good news is that at least it's getting better. Shopping for clothes is still not too fun, which is ok, because funds are limited. I have been trying to get going on my business, and have so many great ideas, I just need the time and energy to put them in effect. I made a list of 10 things I want to accomplish this year. I have been working on my list. It helps to keep me focused. I have been considering getting an intern to help with my business. I would also love a Personal Assistant, but that will have to wait. I guess at this point we could all use an Assistant. I hope I am not rambling this morning, keep up your spirits and energy. (tried to send extra HUGS, but computer slow, just like me).

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Quick post bc I HAVE TO go to bed (its 4:35am here). I put all my frustrations to good use tonight. I rented a Rug Doctor & cleaned the carpets in my room & the living room! I have found that when I am down AND frustrated abt stuff I am MUCH better at being able to purge stuff while cleaning. So, the living room no longer looks like a preschool classroom, carpet no longer smells (oldest cat was mad at me abt Mama cat), kitchen floor has been mopped (LOVE my Swiffer wetjet), windows have been washed, & most importantly I located the other source of cat stink from my old boy! He pee'd in "his" toybox!!!!! Dumb cat! All the toys stink so off to the dump the whole thing will go on tues (I sooo wish it was open on mondays). Monday I am going to go to Salvation Army & Goodwill to look for a dresser for me. I NEED to make my room a "grown-up place"- no more hiding undies, etc in a sweater holder in the closet!
Sooo happy to see many sisters back! I will post more later today.
Have a good day everyone!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Ace, I guess you must have felt a bit better to do all that work. I do not know if other Sisters are going through this, but I think
you and I are going through a nesting stage. I have been gradually doing this as my energy is available. Today I will be doing some of that as well, as my Son will be returning home tomorrow if all goes as planned. I am so happy he will be back home, I just wish we had more room. I am currently in a condo, which is large for condo's, but there is not much available space. I joke that everything downstairs is easily movable, because at a moments notice, furniture is re-arranged, to make room for my studio, a puppy playpen, and at Christmas time the Christmas tree. I don't mind it, I have always loved to re-arrange rooms, for a fresh new atmosphere, (it also lifts up my spirits, when needed). Well, with my Son returning, the Studio will be taken down and a twin bed will be moved into the dining area. I'm still figuring out where everything will go. That is so funny about your sweater holder, as I too have a similar situation, and need to go get a dresser for myself, and now for my Son. We moved back to my condo a couple of years ago, and I still have lots of work to do around here. With all this surgery recovery, things have been put on the very far back burner. I hope to be in a house, sometime in the near future, but at this time, plans are on hold for that. Housing is so expensive here in CA. I pray it will all work out. Well, have to start getting ready for the day. May all of you have a great day, and Ace, make sure you get some rest!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Apilo- if we are nesting, watch out. I started spotting pink to red more watery than bloody stuff today. Hadnt spotted in a LONG time. I was so surprised by it that I even posted in the regular post-op forum. Im just going to lay low tonight & see how things go. Bummer bc I had big plans of stuff to get done. Such the story of my life. I wish we could change "chapters". So, off tothe sofa I go. Going to be a good girl & not assemble the dresser I found at Walmart tonight.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Ace, I'm so glad you decided to take care of yourself. The dresser will come later. You are most important. My nesting did not go as planned either. While I did get some things done, I ran out of steam and did not accomplish everything I wanted. Oh well, that was one of my items on my list of things to accomplish this year, "believe in possibilities and expectations, but be prepared to make adjustments along the way". I guess that is a theme for our recovery too. I am very proud of you for stopping and getting rest. Yesterday, when I ran out of steam, I decided to attend another online class. The classes have been so excellent that I have been glued to them. I have learned so much great information and am ready to put them in effect. I pray God will give me strength to accomplish what I want to do. Today I pick up my Son. I am so excited, but a bit nervous too, with the adjustments we will all have to make. I pray that God will help us all to adjust and that everything will go well. It is going to be a busy day today. I was hoping to get a good night rest, but woke up at 4:00 a.m. I have tried to go back to sleep, without any luck, so I guess I will try to get a little more done. I have my backdrop stand to tear down and put away, so that I can place the couch back in place, and set up the space for my Son. I really wanted his homecoming to be different. I wanted to have everything ready, but I guess what will be most important to him is to be home, not how the house looks. Oh well, I should get to work. Take care of yourself, put your feet up and get some rest.
May everyone have a happy and productive (except for you Ace, put your productivity aside get some rest and still be happy), day today!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012
Good early Morning to anyone that is up already. To the rest of you, I hope you are enjoying a restful sleep. Yesterday was a busy, but great day. I picked up my Son, and we ran some errands, then came home, and enjoyed watching a movie with him and my daughter. It was so great watching my daughter and son together, laughing and talking and singing together to Youtube music videos. We did not do anything extra special, but just enjoyed being together. It was a happy moment. Puppy is still adjusting to my Son, but getting closer and closer. Our other dog greeted him with her usual love and attention. This morning Lexy decided she was going to get up early and woke up before 5:00 a.m. I 'm not happy about this early wake-up, but understand she is getting adjusted to changes too. Anyways, enough about me. Too early to have much brain activity. I hope everyone is well.
