Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

I am sleeping alot better since before my surgery probably because I don't have sooo much estrogen in my system and no pain other than my healing pain. I also don't have the "broids" bothering me and feeling like I need to pee more frequently. I am working at bit from home each day. Not ready to go to the office probably until next week and then just for a bit. One thing I wanted to share is that I have had yogurt daily to keep the yeast issues from antibiotics at bay. I am going to go to the vitamin store today as I want to see what they have in regard to nutritional drink. And tomorrow I am going to try to get to the acupunturist. I am believer in eastern/western medicine. Hope everyone has a great day.

Gonna have to open a can of whoop *** today.
But gonna have to do it via email, because I don't like it when coworkers see me cry.
Three times now-work has asked me to help a client 2 hours (one way) from my home for this coming monday. I will be at day 12 post op.
What part of NO are these guys having trouble with? (I work with all guys).
Today, they have 'graciously' offered to meet me half way and drive me the final hour. Are they passing out Crack at work now??
I have a history of saying YES too many times. Also a history of 'being a cowboy' and taking on too much.
I might have set myself up for this agreeing to help via phone and email beginning day 5. But I don't answer the phone if I don't feel good.
It is very frustrating that they keep coming back with 'offers' to be helpful in getting me to work on the 21st-I feel like none of them have heard a single word I said. NO
I just want my mom, husband or a dozen of you to call work and tell them to BACK OFF-I lost a whole bodily SYSTEM. NO.
Really guys?
Thank you for making me feel so valued in the company, that you dudes can't seem to breathe without me---but I only just got this job last August....what did they do before I was hired? Yep, pretend it is July 2011 and do it the way you did before I got there fellas. (I am the only one that can do my job-it is a new position with the company-they didn't have anyone in this position before me. So really, is it that hard to go back in time?)

Thank you dear ladies for letting me vent. I am flattered but honkerblonkED.

Amen Zoyafan!!! I feel your PAIN sister!!! I even went to work 5 days post op. The next day, I felt like crap, and have been home ever since. They are NOT going to make me go in until I am good and ready... Number one priority if for us to all heal. Then they can get there superhero back.

I completely agree, guys at work just don't seem to get it.

A few days before my surgery (and even though he knew about my surgery months before I scheduled it), my boss asked me if I would be able to come the week after my surgery even to talk. I looked at him and flatly said, uh no. His response, "Oh, well I can probably call a couple of days after your surgery and we can have our conversation, then." Our "conversation" would be him testing me on background info about my research product, btw. I was in shock of the mere suggestion - I told him no and that I wasn't doing anything but rest for the time that I was off work and that if I didn't heal properly it could cause more pain and discomfort. He sort of looked at me blankly and said ok.

That following monday, he was a lot nicer and more sympathetic to me and didn't bring up me doing any work while I was off. I think he must have talked to his girlfriend or done some research over the weekend about it.

They just don't get it (thankfully my husband does). It just makes me want to say - how about if I ripped your testicles out through your belly button or abdomen? You wouldn't feel like doing anything either.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

And as far as progress, I have felt much better the past couple of days.

The pain is better and I have been much more chipper and more like my old self before my endo pain completely consumed me.

I am listening to my body and trying not to push myself too much (definitely following the restrictions), but pushing myself a little to get my stamina and strength back.

Happy healing, ladies!

Hello sisters,
I have just joined this site. 6 days post-op. Doing well--I think, a little discouraged, I did to much to soon, now not feeling so hot.
In the process of learning how to use this site, from reading other posts I think it will be very helpful to me as well as many others.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

Things have calmed down quite a bit and I think we are beginning to find some solutions.

The agressive neighbor has been calm after police came out.

I discovered the reason for my shakiness and faint feeling was not enough salt. I have been eating small healthy meals 1-2 salads a day, taking my BP meds (one of which is also a diuretic), drinking lots of water and voiding a lot. All this seems to have affected my sodium. I could not understand why having some pizza, the other day, and Chinese last night, tasted so good, as if I had never eaten them before, I kept thinking they had made them better, but in reality it was their salt that was tasting better. I immediately felt better without any shakiness or faint feeling. I think this is it!! This was really unexpected because I have always been conscious of salt intake due to high BP. I woke up feeling great, ate some saltines, had breakfast, and went on a small walk. Although tired I feel great. I have been having a little more pain, by coincidence, also on my right side, but my IBU 600 is still doing the trick.

With regards to my son Brandon's stressful situation, I request as many prayers from as many people that his situation will be resolved by Mon/Tues of next week, or as soon as possible. This way I could get back to enjoying him after having been apart for 14 months, and he can get back to his life. Things look like they will work out, but we won't know till Tuesday.

Once that is settled I can get back to concentrating on my recovery!!!

Thank you for all your prayers, you cannot begin to imagine how much they mean to me!!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

Hi Fellow Sisters,

I had LAVH May 9th, it was scheduled for July, but due to extreme pain, dr wanted it immediate. I had 5 inch fibroid, so am already feeling better after removal, less pain. Surgery was going to be a 1 1/2 hours, but ended up 4 hours. Fibroid was like concrete my dr said. She had to remove one ovary too, which was being crushed and twisted.

I am happiest that I do not need to pee every 15 minutes! Although peeing the first two days was difficult and stung. It was also blue from dye. The gas pain in my shoulder hurt for the first few days. The IV site hurt and is still bruised. My three trocar openings have DermaBond on them and seem to be healing well. The swelly belly is lessening. BM's are sometimes stressful, painful. I am very thankful pathology report came back good, no cancer.

The toughest part for me is resting and healing. I am very active with my toddlers, dogs, farm, home, and work. I find it hard to let go and accept help. I am not physically or mentally able to handle things now though, so it is not even a choice. I am surprised at how tired I am, even after a good night of sleep.

I have all of you ladies in my prayers. I am thankful for all of your sharing, it is such a blessing!
