I'm in pampered princess mode now at the castle.

Had TAH yesterday at 1. Haven't seen doc yet to get details, but she told hubby something about me losing/having more than 2x the amount of blood she thought wild be there, so they're watching my blood counts closely. Was in pretty rough pain the first 4-5 hours post open, but it's waning. I have one of those buttons, so I can medicate as I need it.
Did manage to get out of bed briefly last night...nearly passed out...the don't make these beds for the height challenged so it took extra scooting and maneuvering to get out of the bed (ouchies).

Woke up with killer sinus headache, but overall feeling better.

Sam :-)

I made it gals!! I had the Da Vinci yesterday (may 8th) and all went well! I some pain during the night but my nurse took great care of me. I just ate breakfast and waiting for my doctor to come in. Thanks everyone for your stories, they really helped with morale and support.

I had total laproscopic yesterday (kept ovaries) & can't believe how good i feel (pain scale - probably only a 2 or so)! The cold knife cone I had in December was WAY beyond worse (pain scale probably 8 at least for a couple days after). I'm only using ibuprofen though I have a prescription for oxycodone - I don't need it at all. This is more relief than it is pain by far (I was in pain and felt horrible previous to it because of cervical stenosis, stuck periods & the incessant, uncontrollable cramps of it trying to get the periods out). Pain I have is mostly situational - meaning I control it by doing (or not doing) things... which I can certainly handle no problem.

Urinating isn't the most fun thing in the world, but is getting progressively better. Assuming it's just irritated from the catheter.

I'm blessed to have an awesome fiance who made & fed me dinner last night & is waiting on me hand & foot so thinking my recovery will go well.

Thank you so much for this site. Had it not been for this site, I'd have been a lot more nervous and stressed out over the whole thing. You all here gave me the ammunition for a load of questions to ask doctors prior to surgery which led me to be much less afraid & less worried. Thank you again. I'm sure that has a lot to do with how well it has turned out.

Had Davinci at 7:30am on the 8th. Had nausia when I woke up at noon, got nausia meds and pain killers and slept til 3:30. Was given Toradol and Percocet all evening and I was able to wall the halls a few times and pain wasn't too bad.

Just got home after a pitstop at the drug store. I had to pick up ice packs because my incisions are so sore but I think I over did it walking around Walgreens! The gas pain is bad too and my insides feel like they were put through a meat grinder. I have hydrocodone and tylenol for pain since my doctor told me not to take motrin since i'm on lovonox for the next 6 days. I'm not sure what else I can take for pain. I can't even sleep like this.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

I had my surgery yesterday and all went well. They took my uterus and cervix. I was hurting really bad yesterday and had to stay the night in the hospital.

I am now at home, worn out, and sore. And I know it may be silly, but I'm also pretty sad that I didn't really get any flowers or cards or anything. My parents brought me a plant that my brother picked out and bought, but that was it. Like I said, I know it's silly, but I thought at least my husband or friends or co-workers would get me some or something. I would for them.

Here are some flowers from me to you. I know it isn't the same, but hopefully it will turn that frown up-side-down.

You are not silly in being a bit disappointed that you didn't get flowers or cards and I'm so sorry that your loved ones didn't get them for you. It is always hard when you are not treated the same way that you would treat others in the same situation.

I'm glad you are home though and can begin the healing process!! Happy healing to you!!!

Sorry for the late reply... My LAVH was May 7th and I got to come home yesterday! Surgery went well and better than I expected. Gas problems didn't hit until day 2 and today. The catheter caused me no pain at all and was thankful to have it the first night. I'm so happy this is behind me Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Day two and not feeling too bad. A bit tired and sore but otherwise good. It's hard to sit and watch hubby have to do everything but he's been taking good care of me and the kids. Now I need to get the bowels moving a little better lol.

Hi! !!! You are not silly at all! This is a big deal to any woman, & I know those things can help brighten a day. Could people be waiting for you to be home a bit longer? Im wondering if they help off about the hospitalbc of being afraid to miss you.
