Morning Ladies,
I just wanted to ask if you are having trouble with sleeping? I am so tired but just cant sleep!! I nod off eventually but only for an hour then Im up and down all night. I can only lie on my left side or back. I get an awful lot of pain on my right side still when lying down and well....I tried to turn over to my tummy without it even touching the mattress and it was agony. I normally sleep on my tummy so wondering if this is why I cant sleep well.
Hope you are all resting and taking it easy!!

The company I work for is in California. If I lived there, I could get up to $1500 a week. In NY, the maximum is $170 a week, regardless of what your income is or if you have children to support. Pathetic.

Anyway, I work a desk job from home, so I can sneak in a cat nap if I need to. But psychologically, I feel cheated to be back at work when I still don't feel 100% yet.

Thanks for listening to me vent!
. Hi, I hope your first day of work went well. We have something in common, I also work a desk job from home, my co. Is in Nevada I live in Iowa. I am about 3.5 weeks post op and even though not making any money now( had to use my vacation time for this, and it is long gone), I am not excited or have planned on returning just yet. Some may think, work from home you got it made. Not so much, job is very demanding, and I am not ready for the long hours in my office on my computer and on the phone, racking up deadlines that will only make me worry. I can't sleep as it is. Best of luck to you!!

. Hello, I am not sleeping either. Want to, tired, a few hours is about all I get, then Im awake, exhausted and can't go to sleep! Yesterday, i did a lot of house cleaning, and was pretty much going all day. I thought this will do it, tired when I went to bed! Ya, not so much, few hours later awake, exhausted and now from overdoing it, have some pain to add to the mix. I had insomnia before surgery, had TVH, with a few complications, figured I would sleep like a baby now, boy was I wrong on that one. Best of luck, hope we both get some sleep soon.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

Good morning all. I'd like to say I slept good last night but that would just be a lie. Had my husband not been sucking the shutters off the window, I would have been fine. Luckily (?), my son decided to camp out on the floor of his room so I slept in his bed.

As with many of you, I go back to work next week. My kids need me and my director called to check on me (something she never does) so I know she wants me back as well.

The cuff pain has ceased and was replaced with lower back pain. I laid on the hard floor yesterday to stretch it out and as soon as I was flat, my back sounded like Rice Crispies, just popping away. It felt so good. I laid down again last night to stretch it out and it felt just as good. Gotta do what is necessary to keep my back happy.

Anyway, I'm pretty much back to normal with the exception of lifting, which I am slowly adding small increments of weight. Dr said 10 pounds was ok but nothing more so that's what I'm doing. Been driving since 4 days post op (didn't have a choice in the matter). If I do too much, swelly belly comes back but it's no where as bad as it was. The binder works wonders.

A nap will be in my immediate future before my kids get up as it's not even 0600 yet.

Continue to get rest and relax as much as possible.

I am going back to work on Monday to finish out the school year ( when I go back, we have two and a half weeks left of school). I will be two days shy of five weeks post-op, so I think I'll be okay. Because I rarely take days off, I have plenty of sick days (enough that I could have stayed home for the rest of the year) but I needed to finish the year with my sixth graders.
Normanswife...I teach sixth graders as well! We only have 3 days left so I'm staying out to the end. I have been in a couple of times for short visits and to say goodbye. I'll miss them, but thankfully they all understand and are very concerned about me...that's the nice thing about sixth graders, they are still very sweet

. well, I guess I should be fair when I am complaining! My husband has been the best, he is doing all he can, when I came home he brought everything I can think of upstairs to our room that I might need when he had to go to work including an ice chest that he restocked daily with ice, water, jello, fruit and anything else I request. He works all the time, and still has been wonderful. My best friend came over, vacumed, dusted and went to the store for me, and brought me great watermellon! She has my house key and has checked in on me daily. My kids, I guess they are the ones I tend to have the beef with, cant include my granddaughter- she is only 9mo old . I had to remind them, just what mom went through. They are great kids, however, young and well what else can you say-but young, that sums it up. Thanks everyone for letting me vent. For me writtting things down ( or in this case typing) really helps me to think and put things in perspective. Have a great day sisters, we are all one day closer to better days!

Morning ladies...a new day has dawned. Wonder what this day will bring? I am sorry to hear that some of you have not been sleeping...I have found that getting some light exercise during the day (I go for a 2 mile walk each morning) really helps me sleep better at night. I will be taking my first long(ish) road trip today...driving up to my parents house to retrieve some things and driving back tomorrow. Will let you know how that goes. I hope that everybody has a great day today. Keep us posted

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 07-May 13,2012

Good morning sisters! Sleep seems to be the topic this morning...for the first few weeks after surgery I actually slept great. This last week though has been awful (very similar to pre op) and I am wondering if it is just stress related to the move or what! I gave also had to get up the past two nights to cath which hasn't happened since surgery. That is very frustrating. But it has been hot and want to drink water so I don't add dehydration to the list. I try to shut it down about 3 hours before bed but that hasn't helped.

Resuming house hunting today and taking my 18 yr old with me so if I get tired I van nap between houses, Lol. Wish me luck!

Happy House Hunting Dersch and good luck!

I didn't sleep well last night, right side pain! 4 trips to pee during the night, what is up with that?

Very tired today, nothing on my agenda but resting.

Sleep oh sleep its not just me then!!

I wanted to ask do any of you feel very heavy below, as though my lower tummy was hanging down. I had abdo cut which I think wasnt helped by having a bit of a tummy on me already!! Im worried that the extra weight will make my recovery longer.

Also Ive started to go out more and noticed just how tired I feel after..which you would think would help with the sleep!!
Hope your day is going well
