I had adenomysosis and the areas of your pain is exactly where I had mine. I had severe cramping/contractions and took hyoscyamine SL to decrease spasms. My pain was lower gut, back and top of thighs. It was throbbing and seem to increase duration of pain/frequency when my periods started to come more frequent and also effected my bowels when I had my period. I used to cry out in pain when it was severe at times. My gyn said many women are affected by adenomyosis in their 40's. When I had my hyster, they also found endometrious as well. Best of luck to you! Take care.

Re: Adenomyosis question --surgery this week

My adenomyosis progressed to the point that I had a dull, throbbing ache daily. It would even ache into my lower back and down into my thighs.

The relief of that constant ache was immediate after my hysterectomy. By 12 hours post surgery I already felt better than I did before my surgery. I also feel like I have a ton more energy. I'm 35, but felt 45 before my surgery and didn't even know it until now. It's like the pain was exhausting me.

I'm 3 weeks post DvH now and feel wonderful!

Re: Adenomyosis question --surgery this week

My left hip hurts so much and I'm hoping this will be eradicated with my surgery. I thought it was bursitis, but I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks. I certainly feel positive now by your responses. I really can't stand this constant ache anymore!

Re: Adenomyosis question --surgery this week

I had adenomyosis and fibroids that had me in pain each day just as you described. I felt like I was pregnant always and when I would have a contraction I would pass clots that I would call my "baby". Hope you feel better soon.
