I received an email from Hystersisters this morning

The email said "happy hysterversary." I guess it has been 3 years since that entire nightmare. I haven't been on this site since last October, mainly because I've moved on. I see an endocrinologist for hormone support. My ovaries were taken, and the bottom literally fell out of my life. My surgeon, (who I appreciate and like very much) is primarily an oncologist, so had no appreciation for the hell I was going through. It took the better part of a year and a half to finally get the help I needed. I am in tears now because of this reminder - I thought I was beyond caring and was healing. Apparently not.

I needed to vent, and wonder if I am the only person with PTS following the loss of their ovaries?

(((sharpie)))

I am so sorry your heart is hurting and that an e-mail has opened that wound.

There are ladies here who have dealt with PTS following their surgery and I know some have found a compassionate counselor was able to help them work through the emotional trauma of the situation. I hope they will stop by and share other support with you, too.

I hope your heart is feeling better today and wish you well.

If you would like to stop receiving the hysterversary e-mails, you can use the Quick Links tab, choose Edit Options from the drop down menu, and then uncheck the box for Receive Hysterectomy Checkpoints.

I am sending extra s to your way!
