Tah+bso feeling good

Hi everybody i'm week 9 post op and feeling good my story goes like this....5 yrs ago i had heavy bleeding anemia and pains but never really done anything till i got a smear test letter and went the docs that was the start of my problems there were lumps...went the womens hosp and they said i had fibroids in my cervix went for a day op to remove 3 rather large orange size fibroids....i honestly thought that was the end of it my periods lightened and i was happy...but last year 2011 i started feeling strange in my lower abdominiwent my docs as heavy bleeding had started again i was sent for a ultra sound only to confirm my suspicions but worse than i thought my uterus was completly full of fibroidsthey couldnt even see my overies so i was sent for a day op to see the damage and there was that many and some quite large my doc said i have to have a full hysterectomy and bso i was terrified but agreed as they were crushing my bladder and bowl causing so much discomfort so on the 14th march 2012 9 wks ago i went for surgery and there was comlications due to the amount and size of theze little monsters but my surgeon managed to get them out after hrs in surgery i woke up with morphine a catheter and a drain...but not to much pain due to the morhine....on the second day they come took morphine catheter out then later the drain which i mite add was the most painful thing coming out haha but i coped ....the rest of that day and nite were very uncomfortable i didnt sleep that nite it wasnt even 48 hrs and i was devistated but i got up on the 3rd day and decided to just get on with it i got in the shower and got dressed and went down in the lift and sat on the benches outside and i felt great again i was sent home the next day and recovered slowly at home after one week i thort i was never gonna get well my partner fell down tge stairs and broke theur heel and ended up in hospital getting surgery i was gutted and on my own but with help from friends i managed and i think it brought me on more to be honest ....i have suffered with the hot flashes and they got worse as wks went on so i gave in and doc give me hrt premarin low dose to start so fingers crossed 2 wks to kick in i think this site hyster systers is fabulous i have learnt so much from it and its also calmed me down when ive panicked thru pain etc so thank you all for ur support and good luck to all the systers going thru the new life after a hysterectomy im glad i done it thats for sure and a positive mind keeps a positive body ...much love all
