HELP Please? Still bleeding 5 days after biopsy

Last Thursday I had an endometrial biopsy done, and I have been spotting since then with mild cramps. I woke up this morning and I am bleeding bright red blood, and it is much heavier now. I called my gyn and left a message for her. But should I be concerned about this, and did it maybe make my period come on earlier? If anyone has had experience with this it would be helpful please? I just don't want to seem overly concerned to my gyn when she calls. Is this normal or should I be seen? I have an appointment with her on the 24th this week for results on all of my tests, so should I wait till then to see if maybe I stop bleeding? I do know it is not my period, because I was not due to get it for a week or two more, and I did not have any normal symptoms associated with me being due to get my period. Please help, I am a bit worried.

Re: HELP Please? Still bleeding 5 days after biopsy

When I had my biopsy, I bleed for at least 2 weeks after. It's a very sensitive area and doesn't take much to make it bleed.

Re: HELP Please? Still bleeding 5 days after biopsy

call your dr to be safe. with you having a appointment in 3 days they may ask you to restrict your activity for a day and see if it lessens and if not to come in sooner .. my advice is that since you are so close to your appointment date make sure they call you back and in meantime prop your feet up and lay down and restrict your lifting and activity and see if it lessens. If it does then its a sign that you need to be checked and if it gets worse like soaking a pad every hour then you need to go in immediately unless that is a normal period for you.. in which case tell the dr how your monthly normally is light or heavy and your symptoms so they can tell you what to look for... but soaking a pad every hour and resoaking it over and over every hour is not normal unless you got your period and its normally a massively heavy flow... in which case you need to go to e.r. just to be safe.

Re: HELP Please? Still bleeding 5 days after biopsy

Thank you ladies for your advice. I called my gyn and got ahold of here, and she basically said the same thing, that if I starte to soak a pad every hour to go in right away. So far it is not doing that, but the cramps are out of this world (ouch). I took like three Motrin so hopefully it helps a bit. I also am resting on the couch, but it is hard for me to sit still for very long as I also have arthritis so my joints freeze if I sit to long. Arggggggg I really can't wait till all of my female issues are taken care of.
